1. The best bagel experience of my life in Melbourne recently during the comedy fest.

2. 'Welcome to sunny Melbourne,' the pilot announced as we commenced 1 hr of waiting on the tarmac for the lightning storm to pass.

3. Hiked up a hill to some beeg granite rocks last year. There's lizards too maybe if you squint.

4. Spotted a wombat on my evening walk. It was decidedly unimpressed and retreated to its network of burrows shortly after this.

5. I kinda miss my old place, it had some really nice views. Rolling hills, water, pretty sunsets, roos, the lot.

6. New place does have loud and obnoxious guys though. Some sulphur crested cockatoos having a ball with pinecones.

1. origins of your blog's name: frasier s4e6 mixed doubles, when niles called his doppelganger a "ludicrous popinjay" for leaving daphne with another woman.

2. my "I'll always order this food": anything involving chicken, noodles and veggies

3. overused emoji: for some reason its 🤦‍♀️

4. current comfort movie, show, and book: im a sucker for lisa kleypas & books published under the harlequin enterprises company. as for movies it's probably the 1989 recording of into the woods atm (the cast is just excellent in this) although as a cinephile, it usually depends what films i love. for tv shows, its frasier & courage the cowardly dog.

5. song on repeat: janet jackson - escapade. but currently its the whole company soundtrack & they might be giants' courage the cowardly dog song.

6. my current hyperfixation: depends honestly, im in a sondheim + frasier kick atm. maybe next week i'll be into both charmed, er and cheers while doing my courage rewatches

7. oddly specific thing that brings me joy: studying animal behavior in public areas. animal behavior fascinates me, especially cats in streetwalks or public spaces.

8. what smell makes me happy? food and my jo malone nectarine honey perfume

Reading- I’m not reading anything at the moment other than mangas I’m staying caught up on as they come out but I really want to start re-reading the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy!

Last series- watching Gachiakuta currently as my anime pick and I rewatched season one of the fallout series and have watched 2 of the episodes of season 2, but have both been awesome and enjoyable watches.

Last Film- cannot for the life of me think of it because I always never watch movies, possibly the chainsaw man movie, but not sure if I’ve seen one recently, it’s been all shows 😂

Last Song: New Archspire dropped today so I had to check it out as I was forming this post…got through Job For A Cowboys Gloom EP as well since I was working out while doing this (now we are onto Japanese jazz fusion since that was my last search 😂)

Coffee or Tea: Tea, coffee every so often but it usually upsets my stomach.

Currently working on: oh man so much, practicing music (I really need to start practicing bass again, but it’s mostly been guitar), being a better person mentally, physically, and emotionally (which is exhausting in this day and age and encompasses so much but I won’t use this moment to complain x))

It’s Coldplay, and their later albums make Remus want to gargle battery acid, but he hugs Pete quickly and nods.  ...what Remus does not expect from his appointment with a respectable public relations group is to enter an alternate dimension where everyone channels their energies through crystals.  An ice-cold bucket of water is poured over his head at the word, and then the bucket follows- he is beaten with the bucket.  It’s a Friday night in the dormitory and the speaker is confiscated.

and then three out-of-context sentences from a chaotic mystery gaelic-monster wolfstar wip (working title "mo nighean dubh") that i started this week when I got full writers block for FT lmao:

The only other bright colour, aside from the burnt-blue sky, tended to be blood. Reinstating the mangled dry stone wall near midsummer, in the late evening, Sirius dropped a scraggled rock in the wrong place and bruised his fingernails purple before they split, blooming bright with pain.  It was then, with hands weeping red into sockets of blown grass, that he first saw the figure by the water.

Currently Reading: I'm halfway through Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe and, true to what everyone told me about this one, it's easily the most engaging, readable, and compelling non-fiction book I've read in years. maybe of all time. I also just bought Conclave because of @jellyfitzjelly and I'm also taking my time reading Close Range by Annie Proulx because her writing is so unreal that you really have to go slow and savor it.

Last Song: Lilac Wine by Jeff Buckley. Like most of his music, it takes me out at knees every time.

Last Film: My Big Fat Greek Wedding lmao I'm trying to use this summer to watch some of the films -- both the artsy and the popular ones -- that people are always gagged I haven't seen already

Last Series: Just finished The Rehearsal season 1 on Monday night and it was . . . very upsetting! before that, of course, i watched the pitt and now that's everybody's problem

I've been tapping away at the fake relationship!AU, so let's do that one first!

“What the fuck am I doing, Nora?” he asks her in a thick voice and she hums. “You’re figuring it out, Alex, and that’s okay. And while you’re doing that, you’re keeping yours and Henry’s head above water in a media circus. I’ve seen what’s on social media Alex, and yeah, while some of it is awful, a lot of people are rooting for you guys, both individually and together,” she offers as a comfort, and Alex takes a deep inhale through his nose before breathing out through his mouth, like June had coached him.  “Seen any good memes?” he asks and Nora snorts. “I’ll send them to you once you’re out the other side of this. You won’t appreciate them otherwise,” she says and he nods once.

I also got hit by a plot bunny while soothing myself during the first spin class I've taken in a month, so expect this nonsense sometime soon...

“Hey, it’s Alex!” the most gorgeous human being to ever grace Henry’s field of vision says. Dark curls that beg to have fingers run through them. Warm, burnished skin that gives him a glow. Dark, whisky coloured eyes. Henry stops pedalling just to stare. The trainer grins, even as he begins to pedal faster on his own bike. “It’s another thrilling Thursday in New York! Let’s ride!”
