Rewatched a season of RWBY (volume 3) and somehow video essays about it came on my FYP, so I watched a few of those too...Omfg, I can't believe I used to like this show (and that was my thought before the video essays).
The fights were the best part of this show (so creative honestly), but omfg, I don't think I've ever hated an MC so much in my life. Ruby and Yang are horrible characters. They're both annoying in different way. Yang tends to be a hypocrite and comes off as too preachy for someone who does the very things that she yells at people for doing, and Ruby is just not that great or likeable or even really a great leader to her team.
I rewatched the fight with her, Qrow and Tyrion and omfg, I can't be the only one yelling at my screen "FUCK OFF RUBY, YOU'RE NOT HELPING AND YOU'RE JUST GETTING IN THE WAY! YOU'RE GONNA GET SOMEONE HURT!", and low and behold she gets Qrow hurt.
Honestly, I would've preferred watching a show about JNPR and then have it switch to JNR + O post Pyrrah's death with the show switching protagonists from Jaune to Oscar, or having both as protagonists since they seem to be better made for that.
They can keep Weiss and Blake though, they were the most fleshed out and interesting characters of team RWBY, and are actually my favorites. Maybe add Oscar to their team with someone else, anyone else, because I just started to skip anything with Yang and Ruby since they started annoying tf out of me.
