Tail O’the Pup reopening was a long anticipated event and for me my 3rd location since I discovered the iconic hotdog stand in the 80s. Of course, my interest was peaked when both Laura and Gary both shot the opening day a couple of weeks ago. I was too busy and tired to trek to West Hollywood to score a Tail O’the Pup’s dog. Without a doubt this is the best incarnation of hotdog fantasy land. I mean the most fully realized version of it in my opinion meeting modern expectations of fine hotdog dining. Unlike previous versions it can easily accommodated crowds easily and comfortably. I ordered the corn dog because it’s been forever since I had a corn dog. Then I jumped in the Piggy Pup and chili cheese fries. They have beers but for simplicity I chose a soft drink. You can order at the Pup façade which is highly desirable but fulfillment comes from the back. You get a number on your ticket and they call it out when it’s ready. These are spendy digs but well worth it. The corn dog was really good. The dog weenier casing was nice and snappy. The have jalapeño aioli which is OMG delicious. The Piggy Pup has a reckless amount of bacon on it and you can add toppings. I switched between the aioli and a brown mustard but that aioli was killlin it! The chili on the chili cheese fries was a step up from the paste you usually get with small chunks of meat and beans. It was hardy and the cheese was not a passive player. It was really cheesy that really played well off the chili. I was happiest enough at the end I bought a Tail O’the Pup t-shirt. I’m going to wear that puppy proudly! @tailothepup #tailofthepup @visitweho #westhollywood #westhollywoodfood #foodphotos (at Tail O' the Pup) https://www.instagram.com/p/CiCHMFFPi09/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
