"Avoiding the trap." As I sit here in my apartment reading this great book by Robert Kiyosaki which I acquired at my local market for 2$, on this rustic old coffee table I did 3 hours of yard work for a friend to obtain, while sipping from a mug which was purchases for me as a thank you for helping a friend, while using a toothpick for a bookmark... I can't help but feel at one with the words printed on the page. Too many of us fall into the trap: Hurry to work, make lots of money, pay your bills, pay your taxes, buy more stuff on credit, pay your creditors the interest they demand, run low on money and repeat the cycle again, until our health no longer permits it. Each of us is bound by the idea that more money will make things better. But what about the cost of money? We give up our dreams in exchange for a moderately stable cashflow. We demand more money from employers when we become too consumed by consumption all while failing to realize money itself is not the source or the solution to the problem which is our fear. We convince ourselves to remain in the cycle for fear of not understanding what lies beyond. But our fears are misguided. We fear all the wrong things. Fear should lie within the cycle. Fear of never having lived beyond our material world. Fear of taking a risk. Fear of being judged on the choices we make for ourselves. The secret to overcoming this fear? Learning. We must all learn from fear in oder to understand and fight it. Being afraid to fail is the true enemy. Not failing in itself. Break the cycle and take control of your fear by slowly learning what it is you fear. Do you fear not having enough? Do you fear judgement of your peers? Do you fear yourself? Take your time and learn your fear. Only once you have learned will you be the master of your financial, spiritual and physical faith. Take your time. Competition with others is only an idea.
