Zigzag trim is decidedly worse than circle trim.

There is very little like receiving a new shipment of fabric and meticulously checking over it all for imperfections. There's something interesting about unbolted fabric. You learn about its character when it lays on the table before you, sprawled out and beckoning you forward. Even without life fibre, each cut is alive before you, a garment waiting within to be freed.
