Finally making my Clementine cat plush. Went looking for the tailors chalk I bought last year. (The dress fabric stretched with pins and distorted the pattern last time.)

Guess what, I can't find my tailors chalk!

Had to buy new one and just use pins for the body felt. Will have to wait before doing dress.

I am loving this tailors chalk. I don’t know why it’s called tailors chalk it’s not at all chalky. The texture is like a cross between a crayon and lipstick. Doesn’t leave my hands messy at all and it’s not melty despite it being close to hot in here.

It works better than all the other marking tools I’ve tried including chalk pens, marking pens, disappearing or wash out ink felt too pens (aka thin markers) marking pencils and the crappy tracing paper

This is the marking tool I’ve needed I’ve avoided even trying tailors chalk because I HATE the feeling of chalk in my hands. It makes my skin crawl.

:) Hiya, I'm making a white rabbit costume from scratch and wondered if you had any tips for marking things out? I despise tailors chalk, it gets really annoying and can be hard to see

If your main issues are mess and color, we'd first like to let you know that tailor's chalk comes in a few different forms, including this pencil that has 3 different chalk colors.This is pretty awful, but we often use regular old colored pencils because they're cheap. The pencil only deposits color on top of the fabric, so it's fairly easy to rub out.You can also use washable marking pens, but we've never tried them.
