since you liked my dress, here is the corset i wear under her, also sewed and hand embroided by me. i know it’s not perfect, mostly because of wrinkles but it’s my first corset ever, also drafted by me…

I tried to coordinate a camisole that I finished sewing some time ago, I think it looks quite good
Sure, it might take you a week or even several weeks to sew or knit a piece of clothing. But when that piece of clothing lasts 5-20 years and actually fits and keeps you warm, you come out way, way ahead.
What if I took my enjoyment of the Winter Olympics (and team Canada's colors) that came from my new love for the PWHL (specifically the Montreal Victoire) that came from watching Heated Rivalry and blended all of that into a hockey jersey sweater that combines design elements from all of them. THe uber jersey to express all my hockey loves.
So I have little ladybug buttons I got years ago when I was a wee lad allowed in the craft section and I also have green jeans I got recently…
Should I sew the ladybugs onto them to add a little whimsy?
WIP: this is gonna be a waistcoat made out of old silk ties! I gotta make some noise for the pattern maker, its from this super cool website called freesewing.eu. You can sign up for free and put in your measurements to create clothes for your body! Its great, it's free, it's open source. Use it! I've had this lying around for a while because I have absolutely no pressure (cool event I would wear this) and I'm a bit intimidated by the complexity of making a waistcoat. Hope to finish soon tho!
A new sewing class has started!
As you likely know, I teach a sewing class at a community centre where many of the students are low- or no-income. Each new term, I do a small fundraiser to help cover some of the costs that come up when learning to sew. With the help of very generous people, over the years my students have been able to produce garments that they can be proud to wear on a day out and show off.
If you have a bit of change to spare, please consider dropping it in my little tin cup. If I reach my goal of $100, I'll post a tutorial for one of the projects they will be working on over the summer.
