♔ ｓｅｒｅｎｄｉｐｉｔｙ – —   ┐

                              It wasn’t every day that there were minor ceasefires or anything of the peaceful nature around these times. Even though it were a single week of it, it was as if life had shifted. The Authoritarian and Regime political parties called for both sides to pause, if even for a moment, for the holidays. It was a false peace, but it was peace nonetheless. One of the things he didn’t particularly enjoy was being taken to large events where he’d need to talk and be with others due to his status. 

     Honestly... If he weren’t forced to be here by Bishamon and Yukine’s pestering, he wouldn’t... 

                     “...”       He stops for a moment, thinking on that. 

Actually, he probably would have arrived due to not wanting to disappoint his mother... The prince lets out a defeated sigh and takes a look around the grand room once again,    before his eyes land on something of interest.

Someone caught his attention while others were on the floor and mingling along with each other, there was one lone female off to the side, simply watching. While he personally hated these events, it wasn’t right for someone to be alone... so, being the sucker for being kind to others like he was, he smiled and approached her. Her response caused him to give a wary laugh, shaking his head. 

“That may be so, but they’re rather tedious, though. If they’d just let us enjoy the holiday like we’d wish...” He trained off, looking down to the rather large plate of food he’d gotten. He picks up one of the kebabs off of it and holds it over to her with a smile.                  “Here. You seem to have been standing over here the whole night. At least eat something?”

It’s been a long good while since he’s seen Mari. A week or two? It felt too long for it to be a good reason of her sudden disappearance. Every other day, they’d sit down and just..talk by the park. The girl looked like she needed to talk to someone-- a smile every now and then, and Zander did his best to get just a crack of one..but he hasn’t had the chance lately. 

He liked to consider her a friend. After all, she wasn’t afraid of him. Though it did take a little time getting used to her presence, and perhaps it was the other way around. Though he left himself to check the park every day now. 

Today was his lucky day.

“Mari!” He spotted the young teen sitting on the park bench, like she’d always be, and he ran over as quick as possible. “You’re here today!” A relieved sigh came from his lips..a smile on his face. Though he didn’t seem to question it too much..he was still bothered.

Where had she been?

      There was always a special pleasure Flip got out of encountering young and impressionable children in Slumberland. Not that there was a lack of children, of course. On the contrary. But most of them were very plain. A few exceptions here and there, but most of them bored him. Waking them up was as easily as a tip of his hat. Every so often, though, he met one that could hold his attention for longer. This girl was one of them. She seemed to have abilities not usually found in human children. He spent many nights observing, and now it was time to intervene. Tonight, she was trying to bring an object out of Slumberland and into the waking world. And Flip wanted to know how. He’d let her wake up with her little trophies one too many times. 

        Slinging his bag over his shoulder, Flip crept up on her, speaking when he was close enough to hopefully startle her. “Well hello there. Apologies for interrupting what I imagine was a pleasant dream. I don’t think we’ve ever formally met. I’m Flip.”
