Neko Rahmen
Question: If you're going to keep one thing in your life, who would it be? The one person who loves you very much- to the point that he/she would abandon everything?... Or a cat that makes ramen? Okay, that was just a joke; a bit of a lame one, but that's the question that popped in head when I watched this addictingly entertaining flash anime. Originally a yonkoma ( a four-panel gag strip in a newspaper), Neko Rahmen has become the most watched animation short series on Yahoo, even to the point that Azureus started to distribute it via torrents. Enough about that, the story goes like this: This comedy centers around the Neko Rahmen whose owner is a cat named Taisho ("boss" in Japanese) and his only customer Mr. Tanaka in odd situations, often with hilarious results. Whats amazing about this flash is its simpleness and originality (due to the fact that every episode is made by a different artist), and to ability to make you laugh in such a short time (an episode lasts 2 minutes) while holding a complete story in itself. So far they have 13 episodes released, ready to be downloaded on Vuze. Fun, quirky characters and an original, sometimes nonsensical storyline makes this one a upbeat vignette into "what if a cat ran a ramen shop?" Come to think of it, I'm getting hungry. Mmmm...curry ramen!
