the more I think about it, the more I have to concede that the pan-blue take on the relationship between Taiwanese independence guys and the Japanese Empire is only like 85% stupid rather than 100% stupid*. if I was a cultural studies person I’d do a paper on Cthonic’s** weird obsession with the IJA and their depiction of 228 victims as middle-class and culturally Japanese, but unfortunately I’m not a cultural studies person so I’m making a one-off tumblr post about it instead
