Okay! Here’s some HCs for… Takako? Does this ship have a name?!
- Takasugi still gets nightmares about his Joui past. They’re vivid and recount every detail- Shouyou being taken, fighting a losing battle, Gin beheading Sensei, Oboro throwing the sword and partially blinding him. On these nights he wakes up in cold sweat, and it’s Matako who comforts him, tells him it’ll be okay, that it’s not his fault, that they’ll create a good world together. It takes everything Takasugi has not to break down. Matako is the only person who is familiar with this side of him.
- Takasugi will often tell her not to call him Shinsuke-sama. He sees himself as her equal. She refuses though, no matter how much he persists.
- They’re more formal when the rest of the Kiheitai are with them. This is a couple that prefers to show their affection for each other behind closed doors, anywhere private.
- Matako doesn’t completely understand the animosity between Takasugi and Gin, but she knows that he’s acting this way only for a chance to redeem himself, to rid himself of what happened all those years ago. She will silently support him no matter what, because this is the man who gave her a new life, a life worth living.
