i love her!!! she deserved better than how dirty the mcu did her.

clint. i would have liked more from them, but i like how much history is there and how close they are.

i don't know if i have one? i didn't watch her movie because i was totally burned out by the mcu and still bitter about it being a prequel and her being dead. i guess that i'm not that interested in shipping her with anyone? i just assume that's an unpopular opinion because, you know, fandom, but she didn't have a love interest in the black widow movie, right?
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I WISH SHE HADN'T FUCKING DIED IN THE MOST STUPIDEST WAY EVER. and they'd fleshed out her and bucky's history. like, i'm sure, "you could at least recognize me" was just a throwaway line for the buckynatters but damn it makes my mind go places.
MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG (i'm going to specifically talk about regular marinette instead of reverse/emonette just because there's more content of her and i'll have more interesting things to say than just gushing about how much i love her)
How I feel about this character
she's kind of a fascinating character. one of the few teenage characters in kids tv that really does feel and act like a teenager. she's anxious, goofy, determined, loves with her whole heart, but also has a shocking mean streak. there's a whole season (5?) where almost every episode i was like, "holy shit, she is being such a jerk???" but i just can't hate her, because i know where it's coming from.

My unpopular opinion about this character
i think she's a great mc! the lessons she learns are important and interesting, she has realistic reactions to the things she's struggling with, and i think her development as a superhero is earned.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
i wish they hadn't regressed her character development for the new season, and had the conflict between her and adrien as a couple be about the secret that she's keeping about his dad, rather than her suddenly being nervous around him again. they set up this perfect source of tension and then just dropped it. i'm behind so maybe they're getting into it now that we're later in the season, but damn adrien's not really acting like his dad just fucking died, and neither is marinette despite BEING THERE when it happened and not being able to prevent it.

How I feel about this character
my feelings about ishida have always fluctuated. i found him kind of annoying when i first started reading bleach but he's grown on me over time. i still feel like he should be more interesting than he is, considering his backstory? but the narrative doesn't let him do a lot, i think. of course, i didn't read the majority of tybw, but i find that most of his choices are frustrating.

orhime, nemu, and........ lowkey ichigo. i know they're cousins. sue me. ryuuken and masaki were cousins too. cousin-loving is just part of being a quincy 🤷♀️

ichigo. they're just such idiots together. i like that their personalities are actually quite similar and how that's the main thing that makes them butt heads when ishida's not focused on the shinigami part.

he's underutilized and underdeveloped. again, i didn't read most of tybw so maybe i'm missing some key character moments, but i just feel like he didn't get much chance to grow. everything always comes back to quincy pride or deaths of his loved ones. i just wanted more from him.

i wish his relationship with mayuri (after their initial fight) wasn't played for laughs. dude medically tortured ishida's grandpa to death but i guess it's funny that mayuri abuses nemu right in front of him and kills szayelapporo in the most horrifying way in one of the most haunting death scenes in the series???? haha? i think he should have rematched him in tybw and killed his ass. would've given nemu something interesting to do too if she freaked out on him about it. alas.

How I feel about this character
one of my all-time faves. he has so many contradicting traits and quirks that roll up into this messy person who appears organized. he's into order but thrives in chaos; he's a killer but only when necessary; he has a HUGE soft spot for kids and he's deeply traumatized by his childhood. i get so caught up in his story that even when he's making bad choices, i'm like, "that was the right thing to do. why's everyone freaking out?" he has done nothing wrong, ever, in his life.

i would have liked to see more flashbacks of previous spy missions, especially ones with sam or how they met, or his time as an army ranger.
