Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf || Takela

There had been a lot of talk about the forest around the town. He hadn’t really thought much of it when he got in, more focused on the people rather than his surroundings. But the more he heard about it, the more he wanted to check it out. And what a perfect time it was to do just that. The middle of winter, the sun on its way down since it tended to set earlier this time of year, and with no one else to accompany him. What could possibly go wrong?
He had left his bike on the edge of the forest resting up against a tree and ventured in on foot. There had been all kinds of talk and whispers about this place, so much so that Tombo didn’t really know what he was looking for but he figured with all the stuff people had said about it he was bound to find something. He ventured off the path after half an hour of seeing nothing, and stumbled along the brush. Making his way around trees and over the fallen leaves he eventually came across a structure.
It took him a moment to get over his shock and amazement he walked forwards to touch it, make sure that it was real. He walked along the wall, his fingers following it as he went. He was so preoccupied with looking up along the wall, trying to see more, that he didn’t notice the fallen stones within his path. He tripped, as one does, and fell forwards. The force of the fall made his glasses pitch off from their perch on his nose.
Tombo was on his hands and knees, hands stretching out in front of him, feeling around in the hopes that they would find purchase on the familiar shape as they always did in the mornings. Gosh, he hoped he hadn’t finally done the pair in.
