I can't believe it's been 2 years since we went on "Road to Oktoberfest". It took us close to a whole year with countless meet up, excel and power points to plan this trip. Yes, that's how engineers do it, excel and power points. Who can relate to this? It was a trip that changed my life. I'm sure you've heard the saying that the grass on the other side is always greener, and that was how I felt. Back then I didn't enjoy living in Perth. However, during that trip, I've met so many people who wished they could live in Australia. This made me contemplate and realise how good life is back in Australia. Sure it's not all glory, it's far to get anywhere, the living cost is expensive, and Perth is "dead". But I realised that we have one of the best weather all year long, work and life balance here is pretty good, and when you find the right people, it doesn't matter how "dead" a place is, you'll still have fun. This trip has changed the way I see life. There's always good and bad in everything. If you only focus on the bad, it doesn't matter how good life is, you'll never be satisfied. But if you learn to appreciate the good, then a little thing could make your life brighter. So when time is bad, know that it's only temporary and appreciate the good or the learning comes out of it.
