I think Takenaka can actually read the minds of animals. In a sense. Like he could sort of understand the aliens based off like, feelings? From what I could tell. And it makes sense because its mind READING and reading can be pretty interprative. So I think that the animal thoughts are mostly like primal urges like he can hear how hungry or excited etc an animal is but not like. Sentences or a silly animal language
