I made a Squire and Knight career for TS4 and I’m putting them up for adoption.
So, I have a medieval save in TS4, but I’m not having fun with it because of the constant immersion breaking when my sims have to go off to their careers and wear their career outfits (among other things). I’m playing a knight right now, so I made a knight career with an accompanying part-time squire career.
BUT, I know JACK SHIT about coding. I’m not going to spend time learning to code for this; I have too much stuff I’m dealing with right now. If someone could take this off my hands, that would be great. I don’t even care if I get credit for this; I just want to have a knight career for my game.
If someone wants to do a collab instead, I would be up for that, too. I might be able to muster up more energy for this project if I had someone to work on it with me. I do have a Bard career that I’ve worked on also, but it’s less fleshed out than this is.
FYI, I came up with the amount paid and days worked by looking at equivalent-ish careers in TS4.
Squire, Part Time Job (Note: there used to be a mod that made it so kids didn’t have to go to school. I don’t know if it’s still around and/or unbroken, but that’s what the “No School” entries are for. Alternately, this could be a part time or full time career for adults, idk.)
1. Squire of Arms – It is your job to clean, polish and maintain the armor and swords of the Lord of the Castle and his knights. Mind you don’t get lightheaded off the polish, <sim’s name>. And be quick about it!
School – $31/hr, No Bonus, SuFSa, 6pm-10pm, Mood: Energized, Fitness 2
No School - $12/hr, No Bonus, Everyday, 9am-5pm, Mood: Energized, Fitness 2
Chance Card: You are delivering a sword to the blacksmith to be mended. He is enjoying his repast while keeping an eye on a pair of young scamps taking turns trying to lift his hammer. “Hail, <lad or lass>! Care fer a go?” he asks with mischief in his eyes, as he gestures at his hammer.
Piece of Cake!
Success (+2 Fitness): You lift it with ease. All that work hauling around swords and armor has paid off! +2 Confidence
Failure: It doesn’t budge. “That’s no ordinary hammer,” said the blacksmith, nearly laughing. “It’s an Angelshammer. It was years before I could wield it myself!” +2 embarrassed.
No, thanks.
“Yer a wise one, <lad or lass>.” No bonus.
2. Squire – You have been chosen as the personal servant of one of the Knights. Heaven knows why they took a liking to you, <sim’s name>, so you best mind your p’s and q’s!
School – $39/hr, Bonus $246, SuFSa, 6pm-10pm, Mood: Confident, Charisma 2 OR Mischief 2
No School - $14/hr, Bonus $245, Everyday, 9am-5pm, Mood: Confident, Charisma 2 OR Mischief 2
Chance Card: Mi’lord is lounging in a chair, after his evening repast. “Tell me a joke,” he says, bored.
Oh! That ribald one you overheard in the tavern the other day!
Success (+2 Charisma or Mischief): He laughs so hard, he clutches his side and wipes a tear from his eye. Pressing a gold coin in your hand, he gives you the rest of the night off. +$15, +2 Playful
Failure: Frowning, he asks where you heard something so obscene and sends you to the priest for punishment. You spend the night scrubbing floors. +2 Uncomfortable
Mi’lord would probably appreciate something clever.
Success (+2 Charisma, Mischief or Logic): “A most excellent jibe,” he says with a smirk. “I will watch your career with great interest.” +2 Focused
Failure: Mi’lord is offended! A day in the stocks for you! +2 Uncomfortable
3. Squire of Honor – Well, I never would have guessed that you would be given the, uh, honor of being the Squire of Honor! You’ll be assisting the Lord of the castle in all ceremonies and feasts, so mind you look sharp. It wouldn’t do for the Squire of Honor to look shabby.
School – $46/hr, Bonus $298, SuFSa, 6pm-10pm, Mood: Focused
No School - $16/hr, Bonus $304, Everyday, 9am-5pm. Mood: Focused
Chance Card: Today is the feast celebrating the marriage of your king to the queen of Effenmont. A hooded woman grabs your sleeve as you pass by. “I must see Mi’lord at once!” she says.
Of course, you’ll arrange it immediately.
Success (+3 Charisma): You temporarily stash the woman in a side room and bring Mi’lord to her, where they fight loudly, but away from prying eyes and ears. +2 Focused
Failure: “Stay put!” you tell her and run off to find the man in question, unknowingly leading her straight to him. She storms past you, dramatically removing her cloak and revealing her pregnancy to an entire castle and the guests from Effenmont. +2 Embarrassed
On a feast day?! Is she crazy?!
Success (+3 Mischief): You successfully give her the runaround all evening until she gives up and goes home. +2 playful
Failure: Objecting loudly, she cries, “How dare you treat a woman in my condition this way!” garnering the attention of everyone. A bystander has to step in and smooth things over for you. +2 Embarrassed
