"Hey mom, is this where the Smurfs live?"😄⁣ ⁣ I think the kids were the most in awe when we visited Alberobello. They loved the #trulli houses the most. Did you know that Alberobello is also famous for their terracotta whistles? Looking back at our time in Venice fills my heart with so many feelings. Our kids loved roaming the narrow streets and enjoying the tranquility of "riposo" (rest).⁣ ⁣ I can say with certainty that the Italian people are not at rest right now. What's the first thing you do when you get to a new place? ⁣ ⁣ How exciting is it to check in to a new accommodation?! I always get butterflies in my stomach. I guess it's being anxious about the unknown, especially with an Airbnb. Is it clean? Bed bugs? Creepy host? It's hard to imagine that the beautiful streets in Venice are empty. There were so many tourists when we visited that it became overwhelming at times. ⁣ ⁣ Everyday we hear more news about the dire situation in Italy.
