Gayass.
Bonus pink think bullying
anon's silly little jingle..... taki's gay ass still crushing so hard on tomori she can't function around her......... i missed mygo so much and i need the small boosts of serotonin they're providing among all the horrors
please talk more about tomotaki!!
ohh anon you lowkey came at a bad time. or rather i posted my tomotaki post at the wrong time lol. i'm attempting to do an in-depth analysis of mygo for my rewatch so im lowkey not going trust the rest of my thoughts until i finish rewatching the rest of the show so this is going to be my thoughts on their dynamic up until episode 4! when i finish my rewatch i'd be open to talking about them more
getting to the point, i really like tomotaki not just because of what they mean to each other, but also what they mean for each other!!
tomori is someone who doesn't really trust her own feelings. she overanalyses everything, she assumes she's at fault and feels like she needs proof that what she felt was real and meaningful. like in episode 3 when she fixates on the fact that she didn't cry over CRYCHIC she concludes that maybe it wasn't precious enough to her or that she's missing something as a human being. and then in episode 4 she jumps to "it was my fault" even though nobody suggested that (poor tomorin :<). she kind of uses other people as a way of checking herself because she doesn't trust her own interpretation of how she thinks and acts.
taki on the other hand comes across to me as someone who seems very certain in her values and standards. she doesn't look like the type to second guess herself, if something is real to her then that's it. i noticed this after CRYCHIC's first performance in ep 3, she cries (?), hugs tomori and tells her that she was awesome- words of high praise coming from taki!! thats probably the most i've seen her praise someone in these 4 episodes. later she outright rejects any criticism of tomori's voice, when she sees that comment calling tomori a try-hard vocalist she says "whoever this is doesn't know anything, i'm blocking them!" (tbf i would too lol).
so what happens here is that taki becomes a strong external reference point for tomori. if she says "i'm not good at singing" or "it was all my fault", taki shuts that down immediately. even when tomori asks if taki was angry at her taki says "i could never be angry at you". and i think that really affects tomori because she sees herself as someone out of step of the word or 'not human', so having someone who not only tries to understand her but also has solid belief in her gives her something to hold onto.
tomori is also really important for taki too though, because i think haruhikage was a large turning point for how taki perceived tomori. we didn't see much of their time of crychic so i'd assume she liked tomori before haruhikage (she was kind enough to show her how to use the karaoke machine after all) but i'd say her devotion to tomori started after haruhikage. though we don't know much about taki's background yet i'd say there's something going on around her sister, she seems to really dislike being compared to her so i'd guess maybe she feels lacking compared to her? maybe that's why haruhikage resonated with her so much, because she saw herself in the lyrics (i could be wrong dont come at me if i am!!)
but taki's devotion to tomori is where things become a little unbalanced imo because she doesn't just support tomori, she also puts tomori on a pedestal. she refuses criticism of her and is ready to make long term commitments because of tomori specifically 😭 so while tomori sees herself as flawed or broken taki sees her as someone almost unquestionable and that gap is rlly interesting to me. like. tomori wants to understand herself but also believes something is wrong with her, taki understands and values her but in a way that's a bit too absolute. taki doesn't really engage with tomori's feelings in a nuanced way from what i'm seeing so far. tomori needs to be able to process messy and ambiguous feelings but taki tends to simplify the situation (e.g if tomori says "im bad at singing" taki would counter that by rejecting the premise of what she's saying, not by unpacking why she said it).
so like they complement each other nicely but a little too much 💔 tomori doubts herself too much and taki doubts her too little. i'm not saying tomori needs taki to validate her but she tends to rely on feedback from other people to interpret herself, and taki just so happens to be a very strong and consistent source of that feedback!!
so idk if this makes sense or if this is even correct but thats what i got from up to episode 4!!
anyways (my)go my lesbians!!
go for it, taki!
Am still not over these 2 cards
