okay so
honestly, we know a bit more about him than most of the other friends in game
though his housing situation has got me thinking
if both his parents have passed, who does he live with during the summer holiday?
the way he talks about his family, im sort of getting the impression that he doesn’t really have anyone else?
poor baby
so maybe there’s a wizarding foster system by chance? tbh I’m not quite sure but I’ve made the hc that he was taken in by some distant relatives
he didnt even know of them before his parents passed, they are after all really distantly related, so even now he’s not very close with them
he only sees them a few months per year and after what happened, he wasn’t exactly too keen on growing attached to anyone else
he was taken in by his distant cousins, a brother and a sister who are, at the time of the game, just entering into their thirties
they took him in out of obligation and were able to sympathize with his situation as they both had recently lost their own parents
however, they’re also not the best at affection, trust, communication and the like, so they definitely give him the distance from them that he desires
they all have a sort of mutual understanding that, yes they’re technically family, but no, they’re not friends
bad things happened which led them to how things are now, but talbott likely won’t keep in contact much after he graduates

each of them had a family, and each of them lost it
unfortunately, you’d think this would maybe push them to growing closer and understanding each other, but at the time they took him in, they’d all gone through hard times recently
and that just drove a wedge between them and talbott which none of them have any idea how to go about breaking
so they all just leave one another to their own devices
no reason in their minds for this to extend any farther than that
whew anyway, onto some more trivial hcs if you guys wouldn’t mind
i hc that talbott is not much of a sweet tooth
he particularly isn’t fond of chocolate
but he does strangely like minty chocolate but in moderation
also, you hate to see it, but this boy cannot sing
just can’t
you’d think with a voice as deep and rich as his, it’d come naturally but it unfortunately does not
he hates hot weather
i hc his nationality as british and now, as an American I’m not too familiar with the weather there, but I’ve heard it doesn’t get hot too often?
he’s good with cold tempatures so that’s just another reason he doesn’t like the summer holidays
but he has a surprisingly green thumb!
I’m thinking maybe it’s something he learned from his dad, but he’s just unbelievably good with plants
he has a small cacti (from penny of course) and a little carnation by the window in his dorm room he tends to every morning
(mayhaps carnations were his mother’s favorite)

but this is only when he’s fully grown and matured
also picked up reading from his dad and prefers muggle literature
they make for more interesting reads in his opinion
finds the muggle photography quite boring though. I mean, why don’t they move? why so plain?
favorite color is navy specifically
hates bird jokes and puns, considers them a form of harassment
(especially when mc does it)
knows each owl in the owlry by name, but can actually recognize them merely by their plumage
also, am I the only who’s kinda vibing Pisces for him? I really couldn’t tell you why but that’s what I’m getting
gets on shockingly well with jae once he grows accustomed to his... well everything about him
I’d imagine they could be friends if they wanted to
they’re quite different but maybe that will work in their favor? one of those opposite balances sort of friendships?

considers doing it before but held back because he knows things can happen out of nowhere
he really didn’t want to be right about that this time though
