“Hinata-chan!”

Upon seeing the the recognisable female, Naegi couldn’t help but hug her from behind with a big smile on her face. It’s been so long she saw Hinata so what a better way to reunite with nothing but a tackle hug.

She puffed out her cheek a little and crossed her arms. "I-I know it’s not a competition…. I just get a little nervous when I mess up." She pouted a bit childishly for a moment before turning her gaze to Naegi. Perhaps because this was one of her first times going to karaoke, she was a little more nervous than she would have been. Though she had to admit, it was starting to get fun. Thinking back on her previous performance she couldn’t help but laugh a little. Man, she sure was embarrassing herself. It was a good thing she trusted him not to tell anyone about this. ”Like a duet?” Her eyes flicked to the screen then and she smiled, "Yeah. I’m sure that’d be fun." 

With an intractible grin, Naegi picked up the second microphone on the small table in the karaoke room, and handed it to her. He could tell she didn't do this often. It brought some cheer to him, that he, Makoto Naegi, the kid who spent most of his time playing video games in his room, would be able to inaugurate someone into something social. He'd done this with his sister and a couple of his friends from junior high as well, and found it particularly to his liking. He wasn't much of a singer, either, but his choice of songs was almost always lighthearted and afforded a bit of atonal embellishment. Something old and jazzy, he figured, for this. To be sung with a little swagger. And so he selected the song.

"Yeah, a duet-- you've heard this song before, right?" he asked as the intro began to play.

Hinata couldn’t keep eye contact with the other. Feelings for her? She would never believe it, but did she have a reason to think he was lying to her? “I-I didn’t think y-you liked me like that. I’m just surprised is all…..”

Well-- this was awkward. Caught in the blindside like this, Naegi had absolutely no idea how exactly to respond, having thought that this might just be another blog based anonymous feelgood session. Yet somehow, it seemed he'd forgotten to enable the anonymous part, and... "E-eh...surprised? I figured you get that a lot from guys like me, H-Hinata-san."
