I looked at him and saw the #human beyond the struggle... experiencing an empathy for the soul that still resides behind eyes not comprehending the current state of the world today... with his mask down under his chin, he formulated a civilized form of communication. All he wanted was to spend his only money - a crumpled $5. bill on a small, sweet baked good that meant bliss, even for a moment. I watched as he took the first bite... Eyes closed.
