Talk Memory, BadBadNotGood (2021)
Not even the virtuosic elegance of Arthur Verocai, Laraaji and Karriem Riggins can keep Talk Memory from being a largely uninspired return from BBNG. The group were never interesting because of their contributions to jazz but because of their unashamed influence from hip hop. Without that hip hop, there’s little left – Talk Memory is all very pretty and all not very interesting.
