strong sad would LOVE i saw the tv glow
i know that it’s just TBC’s way of bullying the kids that write to them but it is pretty hilarious that they made strong bad be super anal about spelling and grammar. like, he’s a big angry metalhead troublemaker but he’s also got strunk & white’s elements of style memorized. a real salad bar of a character i love it
headcanon: matt/strong sad is a trans woman but she won't know until like, 2016.
oh my god how did you know i've been working on a drawing of her all week?! her name is matilda. everyone thinks she just adopted a feminized version of her deadname, but she actually named herself after the 1996 movie. this is a headcanon i've had for a long time as you might be able to tell
Homestar and SB are a duo, Homsar and Sad are a duo, but have you considered…
Homeschool and Strong Mad?
I dunno I just think it’d be funny if they were friends. Their younger siblings are killing each other and they’re just chillin talking about the latest WWE fight or something :P
yeah yeah! strong mad's in the back yard swinging around homeschool like a baseball bat but homeschool doesn't care he's still acting like they're having a normal conversation
ik ur fcusa is Perpetually in the Oughts but i would love to hear ur headcanons about how the crew would react to tiktok, as just a general concept
ok full disclosure i've never had a tiktok account, but i think i have a pretty good sense of the culture over there
lem: i think this guy's brain might genuinely stump the algorithm at first, but eventually his fyp would just be 100% those family guy funny moments/kinetic sand/subway surfers monstrosities. he also ends up getting really weird ideas about the pyramids.
mig: he's always at least 5 years behind the times, so he still thinks of tiktok as "that dancing app" and initially has a lot of disdain for it. he gets semi-popular with his rants about random stuff, usually filmed from an unflattering low angle while he's walking to bubs' to get a six-pack. the second he gets a comment like "omg you should have your own tv show!!" he'll unleash levels of try-hardery not seen since the git outcha seat sound
matt: ultimately i think tiktok's environment would be very hostile to someone like strong sad. he seems more like a neocities or mastodon person
manny: i can't see this guy with a smartphone. i think if you put an samsung galaxy in his hand it would be atomized within seconds. he does show up in many of the cheat's videos
the cheat: OHHHH this guy would LOOOVE tiktok. i think his animation is generally confined to youtube shorts, so his tiktok would mostly be him setting stuff on fire and other "hold my cold one" type antics, with his fyp being more of the same.
beau: he does a lot of rich-guy inspiration tiktoks with sky-high production values. a lot of slick camera tricks showing off ferraris and stuff. i could see the cheat stitching one of those with footage of him in a junkyard beating a broken-down corolla with a length of rusty pipe.
What do you think Free Country USA is like?
Dumb Animal Character Land vs. its Human-world Counterpart?
dumb animal fcusa is tiny and mostly deserted. i think it probably looks exactly how it does in sbcg4ap. sets like the office and the wharf are either a couple towns over or abide by the sweet puttin' cakes principle: you never intend to go but rather simply end up there.
as for free country, georgia, i think it's also a small town, but a little more populated. the main drag is along the highway and it looks a lot like this photo i look at every time i feel like getting mad about the car-centric infrastructure in this stupid country:
the main characters, with maybe the exception of the KOT, live farther away from the highway in a more rural area that's slowly being overtaken by kudzu. it's a nice respite from the bustle of the highway, but you still can't see the stars at night. the kind of town the protagonist of a mountain goats song might come from
i feel like at one point (humanverse) strong badia intended to secede from the US but mig couldn't figure out how to do it. he asked kot—who's one of those sovereign citizen cranks—about it, but mig zoned out a quarter of the way through his explanation of admiralty law
there's kinda no way around it. homestar runner is a deeply objectum franchise
