keeping this image in the forefront of my mind every time i start to get overly concerned about what is happening with bryan danielson
saw a tweet or whatever quoting a bit* from that squared circle expo vi aew panel and went to watch it for the full context and its a good hour of the 4 of them giving each other shit lol its great
oh man im soooo interested in this best friends angle. they could do everything and nothing with it. who would chuck side with? he's ride or die with both of them! he's known orange cassidy for an eternity, and has been his most ardent supporter from the literal beginning. chuck's been singing orange's praises for years, long before he's become the big name he is now. and trent? trent started off as his randomly assigned tag team partner and while theyve spent most of their time bickering and arguing (and, on the two matches theyve had against each other at pwg, trying to kill each other) theyve been pretty nonchalant about it. nothing has really been enough to break them apart. they made up after pretty easy. its fine. water under the bridge and all that. a simple but solid bond.
in fact, chuck has usually been the more mercurial one towards trent! openly jealous and mad that he was tagging with rocky romero... during their match(es) against each other, trent was the one that was having qualms about fighting chuck, while chuck had no problem attacking him. "im going to kill my best friend" and all that. chuck was the one who snapped at njpw's 2018 world tag league tournament and was getting them both DQ'd from every other match. and while trent was angry about this, he was moreso concerned about whatever the hell was going on with chuck. that angle never got resolved (because they signed from aew and then dropped it) but later on when they were asked whether or not that was leading to a best friends breakup in an interview, they said no. no!? it wasn't? if chuck dragging trent down with him like that wasnt enough to break them up, what would?
so, would chuck stick with trent to that same extent? would he return that favor? is orange, a man who has been previously known to be passive and nonchalant (but has been progressively getting more and more visibly active and chalant in the last year) going to be mad that trent kneed him in the face? i can't imagine chuck is going to be a good mediator between these two. is he going to try to get these two to make up? is he going to fail spectacularly? is he not even going to try and just awkwardly live in between his two friends hating each other? are they just going to shrug it off and all be friends again??
im invested in how this pans out any which way!!! as long as they dont just drop the angle out of the blue
mxm did a match in ddt??? they used death by glamour as entrance music????? their match was against dieno??????????? (its all very befitting but lmao omg)
you know i think mox's rambling evil badguy cult promos are a lot cooler when hes saying them directly at someone hes got tied up and duct taped. instead of just being vaguely threatening to, like, the general roster and audience. maybe he should have been taking more wrestlers hostage all this time
execution not ideal but there's many new angles to look forward to now (joe reign, cole is heel again, mjf going from narratively insufferable to narratively suffering) so. im choosing hope.
when i went to the vegas dpw show i was instantly captivated with trevor lee's nefarious heel antics. new favorite guy. i must begin posting
