"I cannot believe I let you talk me into this," Dinah said, staring at the cage in Barbara's hand.

The redhead shrugged, grinning at the dark creature inside. "I think he's adorable." She put a finger to her lips in thought for a moment before grinning again. "I think I'll call him Bruce."

"He's never going to hear the end of that," Dinah said, finally smiling at the bat. "Does Dick know yet?"

Moments, later, a text had been sent to the former Boy Wonder. "he does now." Not a minute later, Barbara's phone beeped with his response.

You should bring it to the manor.

Will do.

With that, the two were off, having decided the walk there. Dinah, however, stopped at the gates. "I think I'll just wait for his response on my phone," she said, smirking as the redhead walked inside, still grinning. Even from where she was, Dinah saw the slight surprise on Alfred's face before smoothing over again as he let Barbara in.

Two minutes later, Dinah's phone beeped.

"I had a nightmare."

Dick toed the thick carpet, eyes skittering around the room, looking anywhere but at Bruce.

Wordlessly, Bruce opened his arms.

Dick crashed into Bruce's lap, tightly wrapping his arms around the amazing man's neck, and burying his face into the man's shoulder. A warm hand stroked his back, and just like that, Dick felt the anxiety melting off him. He relaxed slightly, still clinging to Bruce like a determined koala.

After a few moments, Dick had gathered enough courage to show how much he really, really loved Bruce.

"Thanks, Dad."

Dick didn't want to raise his heavy head, but he could still sense Bruce's smile.
