"Oh god Morgan, I... you surprise the hell out of me sometimes."
I love my water bottle. It has a hole in it now and I am not sure how long it will last. Rip.
Talos 1
Ok so I've noticed up til now 3 bullshit things about talos 1 the first is turrets
So you've got this general high tech research station and you decide "lets put turrets everywhere and be really obviously secretive" so now everyone is kinda freaked out because "why does the station need a ton of tricked out turrets that never attack people ever what the fuck do we have on this station" next is the fact that they can barely face down a mimic which is fucking stupid because they are basically the stations last line of defence against a typhon outbreak so you've got turrets that barely do any damage to typhon entities and are so easy to break it doesn't even need to be directly hit by a basic phantoms kinetic blast. Now we talk about why there are turrets everywhere when at least Morgan had free rein to walk around the ship for a while WITH typhon mods which means anytime Morgan entered a room with turrets they had to be shut down before he/she could go in so now people's like "the fuck is up with Morgan" now you could assume that they had "hacked" every turret on the station to not attack Morgan at which point I ask why is that not still true. Lastly the diagnostic info which the turrets announce to everyone "No Typhon Material detected" "hey Morgan what the fuck is typhon material and why do the turrets scan us for it" "uhm...." yeah that's right the turrets inform every low level person on the station that they look for "typhon material" what a great way to protect your top secret stuff guys well done.
Next is the fact that the security forces don't have good weaponry and the concept is that there isn't any reason for them not to have good weaponry and there's lots of reasons for them to have good weaponry
"But if the security team was carrying around charge rifles and h-beams and tungsten hollow point machine gun rounds with nullwaves in them then people would wonder why they need so much firepower" how about the turrets everywhere that constantly scream "NO TYPHON MATERIAL DETECTED" all the fucking time let's not talk about the fact that they have the military operators available to them and likely the ability to remotely force all operator stations to produce them as our favourite mercenary did but only attack typhon with them.
"But they never expected the typhon to break containment they thought it was impossible" well obviously they thought it would be a possibility otherwise they wouldn't have put turrets that only shoot typhon based organisms in any place other than psychotronics
"It would cost too much" yeah sure whatever it's not like everything else on the ship is state of the art and it's not like they're rich given that they are the biggest company in existence and the only company selling neuromods for that matter, then let's not talk about the net worth of advanced weapons development that could be exploited with weapons designed based on typhon reasearch capable of easily felling nightmares (Disclaimer: weapons on market not marketed as anti-typhon weapons or typhon-based weapons, they are just highly advanced weapons which happen to be highly capable at anti-typhon combat and may or may not be based on typhon research)
Lastly my favourite point being the fact that the only guts entrance in the lobby is in psychotronics which means in an emergency situation no one can access the guts from the lobby, not to mention that for whatever reason the most top secret part of the station uses a general access keycard, then of course the fact that maintenance workers would either not be allowed to use that exit from the guts requiring roundabout methods to get to the lobby or the maintenance workers are all read in on the typhon which is just fucking stupid. Now let's remember there is no guts access in hardware labs which makes absolutely no sense because it's fucking hardware labs
this is saved as ‘cup o mimic’ a murder boy
