My Art Through 2024

January

Ooof the calendar idea really fizzled out when i lost steam at the end of 2023 due to rotations, developed multiple illnesses, and got lowkey harassed out of the KnY fandom. The January spread was one of my favorites tho. Might publish the others on here for closure.

February

These two ended up being the most popular of the year!! still v fond of the tavhalstarion. Then i needed to take a hiatus for a while for studies.

May

Broke hiatus in May because HalTav week was too tempting!! I'll color the full one someday and upload somewhere

November

I seriously thought that I'd be able to lift hiatus in September but I failed one of my board exams, started a new job that made me hella depressed, and developed another chronic illness. so that didnt happen. I sketched both of these way earlier in 2024 but could only finish them in November once i fully passed all exams. Series of Touch still feels incomplete but i like it as is.

December

this was one of the first I drew from scratch post-hiatus and it felt like relearning how to draw all over again. very satisfied with how March turned out!

This year was a very complicated and difficult year for me in all aspects. The hiatus was especially hard on me. I went to see Look Back in theaters without knowing anything about the story and was just floored by how much I wanted to draw again and how miserable I felt during my hiatus. But at the time i had just failed my exam and I didn't feel like i could allow myself to draw again just yet.

I had thumbnailed several comic ideas during the hiatus I'm really looking forward to starting finally!

I'm also facing a dilemma with Patreon, which i only started using as a platform that wasnt twt to share nsfw work. But now that Bluesky's become more accessible and Patreon removed the option for Per-Creation Billing (as well as implemented the IOS app store surcharge), I'm reconsidering returning to Patreon and thinking of moving everything on there to Bluesky.

Anyway, thanks for reading this far! I'm getting used to being present online again! Thanks to everyone who stuck around this long and a big welcome to all the recent newcomers!

Where is all the Tamagotchi Merch?

When I was a kid, I was able to find the Tamagotchi anime online and watch it, and there also seemed to be way more Tamagotchi merch and collectibles. For whatever reason, Bandai didn't bother to test Tamagotchi out on the latest generations or even cater to old fans by keeping us happy with merch. Some tee shirts, mugs, keychains, plushies and accessories would've been great and it would have kept the vibe alive. Bandai really missed out and dropped the ball on this one. The nostalgia for the re-release of the original in collectible new shells will lose novelty and traction. The decision to discontinue the arguably superior Tamagotchi On was their biggest mistake.

Oh well! I'm grumpy about Tamagotchi because of my disappointments in the super expensive Pix Party. I expected more from the most expensive virtual pet I've ever owned.

mmmm not directly. i was DMed screenshots of a Discord for trash talking artists and writers for KnY. Typical attacks about shipping, proship v anti, "pedophilia", etc. Lots of hateful rhetoric over. anime ships. I believe the discord was shut down months ago, but I don't have the energy to find out for sure.

long story short, I found out some people in this discord were blogs I was previously friendly with here, also talking about me. They're entitled to their opinions on my work, but their duplicity was jarring and left a bad taste in my mouth. Combined with a lot of things happening IRL at the time and the fact that I'm just plain sensitive, drawing for KnY wasn't fun anymore.
