On Philip DeFranco’s “Why Harvard Is Being Sued Over This 169-Year-Old Slave Photo…” video
I don't know how to explain to y'all the way this comment section makes me feel, the way this whole thing makes me feel...
Yes, she should be given the original photo of her ancestor and NO you don't get to argue that what the fuck is wrong with y'all?
You wanna keep seeing that picture fine, but use the alternate images, the pictures of that picture, you don’t need the fucking original you jackasses, she deserves to be able to put that picture in an album to one day pull out while she teaches the children around her that slavery isn't just some event that happened, but that it happened to our her ancestors barely a century and a half ago, is still happening in certain countries.
I, who the fuck do you think you are to tell her, OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER, that they don't deserve physical representation of their ancestors' memories and lives??
Do you know how much it hurts to see pictures of my however-many-great grandfathers on my mother's side and yet see NOTHING of my father's side?
Do any of you understand what that hurts like?
To not know where in the whole damned world you actually came from?
Who in the world you are?
Do you know anything even similar to that? I didn't think so, now sit down, shut up, and give Tamara Lanier her pictures back
