OCtober Day 5 - Throne
"So, what do you think Baizine is calling us in for, this time?"
Tambra grinned at Pheltix as they walked side by side through the grey hallway. He sighed, glancing at Tambra without turning his head.
"It's probably the same exact thing he always calls us in for. Why would today be any different?"
"Oh, I dunno," Tambra replied in a cheery tone. "Maybe he'll surprise us one day with a giant orgy."
Pheltix made a pained expression. "Disgusting."
Tambra giggled and skipped forward to be the first through the large wooden door. The large room looked just as she remembered: boring. Tambra often wished she could decorate for Baizine. Who thinks leaving their walls bare is okay?
"Took you two long enough," Baizine hissed.
Tambra sprinted ahead of Pheltix and jumped into her spot in front of Baizine. She continued to bounce as she watched Pheltix approach his spot at a normal pace.
Baizine glared at the two in front of him for several moments. Without looking at her, Pheltix reached out to Tambra and placed a hand on her shoulder to keep her still.
"It's time to begin the harvesting process for Soul C. I will need one of you to oversee things directly, while the other gathers up the souls."
"Oh! Oh!" Tambra raised her hand into the air and waved it a little. "I wanna oversee things! I love interacting with the humans. They're all so squeamish. It's fun."
Baizine shifted his gaze between the two. "What do you think, Pheltix?"
Pheltix's expression remained blank as he turned his head to look at Tambra. "You draw too much attention."
"Aw, I can do it better this time! I'll hide behind a human or something!"
"That's not the issue. You pose a threat to every mission when you interact with the humans because of your… eccentric personality."
Tambra was ready to begin her speech to convince them, but Baizine spoke up before she could.
"I think you have a very interesting idea, Tambra. Hiding behind a human…"
Baizine turned away from the other two and swiped at the air slowly. As he did, an image appeared before them of one of the souls they were after. Soul A.
"This one. You could hide behind him."
Tambra smirked at Pheltix, before looking back at Baizine. "He's adorable," Tambra giggled.
"You could get close to him. Maybe you could even let him assist you. Either way, he will be perfect to hide with.
"Baizine, you have no idea how excited I am right now," Tambra spoke playfully. "You never like my ideas!"
Baizine frowned. He swiped the air once again, and the image evaporated like mist.
"You have to take this seriously, Tambra. If we don't set the cycle back this time, we will lose everything."
"I am serious! Very serious." Tambra mimicked Pheltix's expression and posture in an exaggerated manner. "See?"
"I suppose this means I'll be taking care of the souls?" Pheltix questioned.
"Yes, it does. We will need approximately thirty thousand."
"Easy peasy," Tambra said. "Maybe I could help grab a few if there's any in my area?"
"That's not necessary," Pheltix replied.
"You can, if you want," Baizine said.
Tambra began to bounce once again from her excitement.
"You will be leaving shortly…" Baizine paused, before making direct eye contact with Pheltix. "I'll give you both a little time to prepare. Dismissed."
Tambra turned on her heel and bounded towards the door excitedly. She couldn't wait to meet Soul A. She already had so many ideas for fun activities to do together.
