Remaining acts confirmed for Insurgent Souls Live + COMPETITION!

We're very pleased to announce the last two names on our stellar line-up on 24th April:

Jose Macabra - DJ set Jose is extremely talented and something of a Renaissance man: performance artist, sound designer, improvised noise creator, teknoize producer, a beguiling solo live act and a thrilling DJ. Jose's regularly performs at the best queer techno events in London and Berlin, guesting at Kaos and Sabotage, and having been an instrumental part of Antagony and Behind Bars. His sets mix audio innovation with bone crunching, brutal beats, and we're confident his closing set will send ripples out across the Thames powerful enough to trouble the brickwork of the House of Commons, just across the water. https://soundcloud.com/josemacabra

Lost Harbours - live set Lost Harbours are a 2 piece duo who adeptly mix folk, ambient and experimental strains in their recorded output. Their live set is dark yet delicate, highly atmospheric whilst completely engaging, with virtuoso picked guitar a highlight. Their music is pastoral and psychological, and I've always heard an aquatic, or at least coastal, element to their sound. They're hence the ideal band to open our night and are perfectly suited to performing on the river. https://soundcloud.com/lostharbours

Insurgent Souls live

Insurgent Souls live debut will take place aboard the Tamesis Dock, a characterful barge moored between Lambeth and Vauxhall Bridges (south side). For our opening night, we are proud to present the following huge line-up: Rumour Cubes - full live set This 6 piece, string-led post rock band are the perfect match to launch our new live night. Last summer saw them playing as part of a collective put together by Sam Duckworth, including Sweet Billy Pilgrem, Jehst, Riz MC, Grace Petrie, Kate Nash & Billy Bragg. They headlined the Leftfield at Glastonbury Festival, and also performed at Truck. Their debut album, The Narrow State, topped critics polls. They're fresh from the studio having worked on the follow-up, due out later this year. Their sound is atmospheric yet powerful and they're sure to rock the boat! http://rumourcubes.com/ Bioni Samp - live set Bioni Samp describes himself as an artist, producer and beekeeper. Whilst there's no denying all the above it's his ability to combine these disciplines that makes him such an attractive performer. His take on minimal techno is inventive, and often highly conceptual, and has found favour with Lucy, Adam X, Richie Hawtin, Valentino Kanzyani, Marcel Fengler and more. Using his own unique "hive synthesis" equipment, his sound is a delightful mix of organic electronics and industrial drones - his Sheffield heritage is never far away. http://bionisamp.wordpress.com/ Ben Glass - DJ set Ben Glass established himself at guitarist in the Krautrock band Glass before setting out on a solo career that's seen him mix shoegaze guitar aesthetics with improvised electronic elements. An accomplished producer, Ben's also found a niche as a remixer, reworking Now, WeirdGear, Life Of Birds, Ben Barrett and more into motorik, rhythmic beasts. As a DJ, he's able to effortlessly combine the familiar and the unknown, mixing up classics whilst keeping one ear to the future. http://benglassmusic.com/ Cloud and Owl - DJ set Your hosts for this evening are soundscaping DJ/production duo Cloud & Owl. Seeing themselves as artists first and foremost, they promise to serve up organic-electronic music to daydream and dance to. Having established themselves though a number of remixes and live/DJ hybrid performances, Cloud & Owl have upped their profile via their weekly Thursday night radio show on Barricade Radio.
