Hey Tangled Fandom!

There's been some serious wasted potential in this series, and it's been bugging me recently. What is it, you ask? It all has to do with this beautiful lady:

Oh, don't remember her from her 1 minute of screen time? She's the fifth handmaid brought in as Raps' new lady in waiting in season 3 episode 7. Raps expects her to act like Cass, and puts her in 'adventuring' situations, but she's extremely confused, and not into it. This whole plotline of getting a new lady in waiting... never resolved. I know the obvious answer is 'oh, Cass will be back eventually, so it doesn't matter' but screw that. Would Cass really want to go back to being a lady in waiting? Can't she get a more important position- one that makes Raps and Cass equals? So here's my alternate universe where this throw away character gets plot relevance:

I'll be honest, when I first saw the episode, just from the opening, I thought it was going to be about Raps having to let go of Cass, and learning that this new handmaid was interesting and fun in her own way. They become friends. 'Reach out to people that you might not ordinarily.' Yay, self contained episode plot with some lasting character progression and a cute moral. But no, it's a flashback episode, and we never see this girl again.

But what if they did have an episode like that? This girl is clearly a little put off, but she still appears to respect and want to help Raps. It could be an episode about how sometimes we cut ourselves off from friendship, and Raps is the one who needed to open herself up again. And then this girl can become a simple but effective addition to the show's many side characters.

But what would she do? What's her role in the show? Well, this girl is obviously not going to go on any crazy adventures, meaning she could be a stabilizing force back in Corona/the castle when the main crew does go on adventures. She could be a sort of level head to the chaos of the main crew. Also some rep for 'it's okay if you like sewing- sewing doesn't make you inherently weak' which is a female stereotype I personally hate. Also, she seems to be visibly shorter and younger than Raps - maybe around Varian's age? Now, I'm not jumping to love interest, but goodness knows Varian could use some friends his own age. I could see some cute side plots of them getting into trouble around the castle after he came looking for Raps, but Raps is off doing the main plot.

That's cute enough, but what if we wanted to give her a bigger role?

Maybe she actively even avoids getting involved in the crazy antics of the plot, but gets forced into it somehow- like maybe there's some spirit who chooses to posses her. Creepy blue girl? Friends of creepy blue girl? Someone/something else plot relevant? Who knows. Anyway, she becomes the vessel through which the crew gets important information about plot stuff. She develops a sort of split personality, one that's dangerous, but might have info on Cass, and one that's... well, just her.

Idk, I just really like this random one-off character and think there was potential for her.

I'm adopting her now. She is my child. Maybe I should give her a name? You guys got any ideas? She kinda looks like an Abby to me. Idk though. Anyway, that's my hot take. Feel free to expand on it if you like.

If Varian does become Xavier’s apprentice...

I actually really REALLY want this to happen as part of Varian’s redemption arc, and I can actually see it going similarly like Jim and Long-John in Treasure Planet. I mean, Xavier obviously isn’t a double-crossing pirate or anything, but can you imagine
