Lowkey nervous bc this is my first art post here aaaaa
Just a little smth I drew of Varian, Faith, and my ocs Rodolphus and Opal for Valentines Day :D (they are the friend group ever) 💕
science bois, brought to you in part by Procrastination, Maybe ADHD, and viewers like you :D thank you!
I’ve had this headcanon for awhile, only @nerdasaurus1200 knew about it because it was intrinsic to our little collective hc but I thought I’d share here. Nobody has to share this HC, but it’s been a thing that was on my mind for awhile.
Ever notice how we never exactly see Gothel with a dude? Yeah sure, she jokingly flirts with Shorty but anyone who’s nuanced can tell she’s largely being sarcastic, we never see her get remotely starry-eyed about any of the male protagonists, now granted, they were a great deal younger than she was and one was after her “daughter” but we never see her get even remotely wistful about the opposite sex, in fact, she seems kinda.. man-hate-y? Not in an obvious way, but in a more understated “I’ll tolerate this jerk until I can do better and then he’s as good as dead.” sort of way.
What I’m getting at, is even though we know Gothel has had male romantic partners in the past (how else could Cass exist?), we don’t get the feeling that she ever truly had deep feelings for them, but that doesn’t mean that she never had deep feelings for anyone ever, and that’s where my headcanon is going.
Meet Gwen.
Gwen, my own OC, is a fiery, red-haired Scottish lady whom Gothel did have deep feelings for, and who returned them wholeheartedly. But Gothel… is Gothel… and her ways eventually ended up breaking poor Gwen’s heart. Gwen was unwaveringly faithful to Gothel, but sometimes love just ain’t enough and Gothel valued attention over everything, she wasn’t all that faithful to Gwen and that’s how baby Cassandra was born.
From birth until the age of 3, Gwen helped Gothel with baby Cass, because she was really in love with Gothel and even though how baby Cass was conceived broke her heart, she still loved the child because the child was absolutely innocent in the matter. Now, again, this is my own headcanon and no one else has to share it, but in my own little version of events, a lot of the “good” things that Cass associates with Gothel, could actually be attributed to Gwen, with the exception of the music box. That happened post-Gwen.
Unfortunately, Gwen left after a horrid fight when little Cass was 3, a full year before the memories that Zhan Tiri showed her, so she does not really remember her, and of course Zhan Tiri wouldn’t show her anything to do with Gwen. Gwen is a powerful witch in her own right and wouldn’t like the fact the little girl she started out helping to raise ended up associating with a demon. If Gwen had been involved in her upbringing, things would have been so different in Cass’s life, but that’s not the way things went.
After Rapunzel was stolen, it was my headcanon that Gwen did come back to the cottage to look for little Cass, but she was already gone having been taken by the Captain. Gwen however, assumed Gothel had taken her daughter with her.
This little HC - and remember guys, it’s just a HC and no one else has to share it - is all because I couldn’t really stand the fact that bebe Cass had no maternal figure in her life worth her salt if we follow show canon, and I just have a hard time believing that Gothel would act remotely maternal to a child that couldn’t benefit her in some way. So while, she may have been a “good” Mom to Rapunzel that was because she was keeping the flower alive, her “drug” if you will. She would not have behaved the same way toward baby Cass, in fact I’m amazed baby Cass survived past her initial infant stages. It would be my headcanons that that is attributed to Gwen’s being there.
I also couldn’t stand the thought of grown-up Cass not having a Mom figure to eventually come home to, because that is technically all Cass wanted when she was a child - she just wanted a life with her Mama. So I created one for her. If anyone wants to share this HC, I’ll be flattered, if ya’ll dont - that’s okay too, it’s just mine but I wanted to ramble about it here. Be kind please. :)
Don't know if it'll be enough to convince them to come back here on Tumblr, but I just want to prove that I would have been willing to support @coronagoddess and their oc, Trixie before they made the decision to deactivate their account. https://codynaomiswire.tumblr.com/post/175795490534/im-home-uncle-monty-trixie-returns-home-for

I actually liked the idea of Tangled the Series' Uncle Monty having a niece (whether cannon or not) and before coronagoddess' decactivation, their backstory on Trixie was quite an interesting concept actually. However, though I liked this oc's story as well as the pictures she was in, it made my heart sank that that was it and Trixie's story didn't go that far for the whole series of Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure.
I just wish I could talk to coronagoddess one more time about Monty's headcannon niece and I would even offer to take over and write a whole lot more about her, if they would let me of course. But since I don't know if someone is allowed to used a person's oc after they've left an account like Tumblr for good, I don't think there's anything else I can really do about forgotten fan characters like Trixie. What do you guys think? I don't own the rights to any of these characters.
A Friend (And Apples)
Characters: Juliet Benson, Judy Pots and Odette ( @punkydodd ‘s wonderful OCs) Ruddiger,
Judy and Odette belongs to @punkydodd , an awesome artist y’all should totally check out!
Featuring “True Love” from Frozen: The Musical
Juliet heard singing. This wasn’t anything unusual, as she heard animals singing all through the forest all day long. But what this particular instance worth mentioning was that it was a human voice singing — and given that Juliet thought she was the only human in the forest on this sunny day.
Juliet shifted in the tree she had settled in, Ruddiger blinking awake on his soft leafy pillow.
“I’ve sat alone in rooms before,
I know the delusional wish,
That the door, would open to reveal
A friend,”
It was pretty song and a pretty voice that sang it. It was soft and sweet, as close to a bird’s song as human voice could get. The melodic voice was sad, but in a way that made her voice seem more powerful.
Juliet tilted her head at the same time that Ruddiger hopped to fully awake. A smile lit up the raccoon’s face and he raced down the tree in excitement.
“She’s back!” Ruddiger said as he scurried down. Juliet furrowed her brow. Who was back?
“Ruddy, wait—“ Juliet called down, beginning her descent down the tree.
“I know this solitude,
I know this kind of cold
But I had faith in what
The stories told”
Juliet could see who it was doing the singing now, through the leaves of the tree. It was a brunette girl, a rather strange but still pretty blue streak across her bangs. It also reminded her of Varian, except it was in a lighter shade than his. The girl was at the base of the tree, standing and staring at Ruddiger, who was whirring with excitement.
“You’re back!” Ruddiger was saying over and over again, running circles around the girl’s feet. “You’re really back!”
“Ruddiger?” the girl asked, a little confused but excited all the same. A swan next to the girl repeated the sentiment.
“Is that really you?” the swan said. Juliet tilted her head to the side. How did these two know Ruddiger? Ruddiger was not the most social of animals, at least not with humans. He stuck to the humans he knew.
“Yes, it’s me!” Ruddiger said. The girl didn’t respond, which made Juliet think this girl wasn’t like her. The swan, however, had their eyes light up and it flapped it’s wings happily.
“Ruddiger!” the swan said.
Juliet dropped down from the tree now, having just about enough of being in the dark about all this. The forest floor crunched under her feet and the connection of the ground and her shoes made a small thud. Juliet smiled widely in greeting.
“Hello!” Juliet said. The girl screamed in response and fell back onto the ground with a much louder thud. The baby swan squawked in concern.
“Judy!”
Juliet grimaced in concern and reached out a hand to the girl — to Judy, Juliet assumed.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you!” Juliet said. Judy looked up with wide, slightly frightened eyes, but reluctantly took Juliet’s hand. Judy brushed off her beige pants once she was standing, and gave Juliet that same expression.
“I should probably introduce myself,” Juliet said. Juliet coughed to clear her throat. “My name’s Juliet. It’s nice to meet you Judy.”
Judy’s eyebrows shot up to her hairline.
“How do you know my name?!” Judy said, stepping back. Juliet bit her lip.
“Your swan friend said it when you fell,” Juliet said. Juliet cursed herself. She should have waited for Judy to introduce herself, she just forgot that Judy, like most people, couldn’t hear what animals said.
Judy’s mouth opened in surprise, and she whipped her eyes between the swan and Juliet.
“You-you ca-can understand Odette?” Judy asked softly. Juliet smiled at Odette kindly.
“Odette is her name?” Juliet said. Odette nodded proudly and marched over to Juliet, making as much as a smile a bird could make.
“Yes!” Odette said. “I’m Odette, Judy’s pet!”
Juliet grinned and nodded her head at Odette.
“Well it’s very nice to meet you,” Juliet said kindly. Odette beamed. Judy just seemed more confused, brow furrowing together. Ruddiger nuzzled at Judy’s feet before returning to Juliet’s side, scratching at her dress to be picked up. Juliet did as instructed, never breaking Judy’s gaze, letting Ruddiger burrow into her arms.
“Ca-can you understand all animals?” Judy asked uneasily.
“Yeah,” Juliet said. Judy fiddled with her fingers.
“Sinc-since when?” Judy said. She seemed nervous, like she was afraid that she might get this ability too if she talked to Juliet for too long.
Juliet shrugged. “Since I can remember. We’re not sure how though.”
“That sounds....” Judy smiled secretly, like she had heard a joke only she knew. “....really cool.”
Juliet smiled toothily. “It can be at times.”
Juliet cleared her throat.
“How do you know Ruddiger?” Juliet asked. Judy hesitated for a moment, then swallowed thickly.
“Me and my family traveled through Old Corona a few months ago,” Judy explained. “We met Ruddiger and the boy, Varian, he belongs to.”
Juliet’s eyes opened wide.
“You know Varian?!” Juliet nearly exclaimed. Judy blinked in surprise, and Odette made a huffing noise.
“You don’t have to yell!” the swan said. Juliet looked at her apologetically but quickly returned to Judy.
“Well, uh...yeah,” Judy said. Judy shook her head. “How do you know Varian?”
“Oh, me and him broke out of jail together—“
“Wait, jail?” Judy interrupted, shaking her head. “Wh-Why was Varian in jail?”
“Oh, you know, treason, attempted murder, all the good stuff,” Juliet said. Judy seemed a little perturbed by this. “Don’t worry. He’s better now. Should be getting out soon.” She lifted Ruddiger in her arms. “I’m watching Ruddiger until that happens.”
Judy didn’t seem to know what to say, opening and closing her mouth multiple times as she tried to come up with something else to say.
“That was a pretty song you were singing,” Juliet said. Judy’s cheeks deepened in a blush and she looked down at her boots.
“Oh, uh, thank you,” Judy said, twirling a strand of blue hair. Juliet wanted to ask about the bangs but held back. Xavier had told her asking things like that were rude.
Juliet shifted Ruddiger to where he was sitting on her shoulders, the little raccoon still smiling at Judy and Odette.
“You said your family traveled here before,” Juliet asked. “Do you guys travel a lot?”
Judy’s smile was a strange mixture of proud and painful.
“Yeah, me and my family are musicians,” Judy said. “We travel around the Seven Kingdoms, preforming.”
“That sounds like a lot of fun. You must see a lot of really neat stuff.”
Judy’s smile became almost completely painful.
“No-not really,” Judy said, rubbing her arm.
“Oh?”
“My parents are really overprotective,” Judy said. “They almost never let me out of there sight. I had to sneak away just to be able to come out here to the forest.”
Juliet pursed her lips, not quite sure what to say to make her feel better. Then she smiled and reached for Judy’s hand, pulling her deeper into the forest.
“Where are we going?” Judy asked. “Where are you taking us?”
Juliet smiled back at her. “If you had to sneak away to come here, I might as well show you the best parts!”
^^^
“An apple grove?” Judy said dully. “This is the best part of the forest?”
Juliet rolled her eyes. “No, it’s not. That’s why I brought you here, because it stinks.” Juliet then smiled. “Of course silly! I have it on good authority by the animals of Corona that is the best place to get apples in all Corona!”
Judy still looked skeptical, but she walked into the field of apple trees slowly anyway. Odette hung at her heels, giving Juliet a wary look.
“Are you sure?” Odette asked. Juliet nodded.
“Of course I’m sure Odette,” Juliet said. “Now go on. Ruddiger already has.”
Ruddiger had scampered off the second they had seen the very first apple, giving a hasty goodbye before disappearing up a tree.
Juliet reached into the pocket of her dress and pulled out the piece of bread she had saved for a snack.
“Don’t worry, I have something for you to eat too,” Juliet said. Odette bit into it happily. Being the almost-daughter of a swan, Juliet had learned that apples were not the best for their digestive system.
Juliet plucked a nice shiny red apple off the branches and bit into one. It was just perfect — a perfect mixture of bitter and sweet. The animals weren’t lying when they said it was the best apple grove in Corona.
Judy took one gingerly, but then bit into it. Her eyes opened to the size of dinner plates and she took another bite.
“These are great!” Judy said. Juliet laughed and crossed her arms.
“What did you think? I was lying to you?” Juliet said. “We’re friends, I would never lie to you.”
Judy froze, apple halfway to her mouth, and then she looked up.
“We’re friends?” Judy asked. Juliet tilted her head to the side.
“Of course we are,” Juliet said. “Any friend of Varian is a friend of mine.” Judy smiled that secretive smile again and then turned around to face the trees. Judy threw a smirk over her shoulder.
“I bet you I can pick more apples than you can,” Judy said. Juliet scoffed and crossed her arms.
“Oh, you’re so on.”
^^^
In the end, it was decided neither picked the most apples, because Ruddiger ate them just as quickly as they were picked. That left them with no easy way to determine who had picked how many.
After their apple picking was done, Juliet had decided the two would visit the cliffs in the center of the forest to cool off in the spring weather. Odette and Ruddiger had both taken the opportunity to rest in the shade of a tree.
Judy and Juliet, however, had both laid down in the leafy under brush to stare up at the sky.
“Varian is in a lot of trouble, isn’t he?” Judy asked. Juliet sighed.
“Yes, he is,” Juliet said. “But there’s not really much we can do to help him. He’s locked away in the Corona dungeon.”
“I could go see him,” Judy said softly. Juliet shook her head, leaves twisting into her curly ponytail.
“You said you’re only here for two days,” Juliet said. “Getting there and back, you’d miss your families shows.”
“I’d be willing to do that,” Judy said stubbornly.
“Varian wouldn’t want you to,” Juliet said. “He’d want you to make sure your family made enough to keep living.”
“They did it just fine before I started preforming with them.”
“You’re basically one of the main selling points now, isn’t that what you said?” Juliet said. “Fact is, now they can’t.”
Judy silent for a moment then Juliet heard a sigh and a rumbling as Judy sat up, hugging her knees.
“You could always write letters,” Juliet suggested. Judy sighed again and looked back at her.
“Yeah, I suppose I could,” Judy said. “It just won’t be the same thing.”
Juliet sat up next to her, silently watching Judy for another moment.
“I wasn’t joking earlier, you know,” Juliet said. “When I said we were friends. I mean that. If you ever need me, just write or visit, I’ll help you.”
Judy smiled, thankful, and reached to squeeze Juliet’s hand.
“Ditto,” Judy intoned.
They both turned back to watch the sky, clouds dancing by, until Judy had to leave for her show. But still, that day, it was unmistakable that the two girls had made a friend.
