Bruce couldn’t blame the reef fish for being suspicious; on a normal basis, predators like the great white would typically have little to do with fish beyond the occasional visit to a reef cleaning station or a remora tag-along. That is, not counting chasing and hunting fish. On a normal basis, a great white might also not care about the safety of a reef fish or whatever trouble in which they manage to get involved.

For better or worse, Bruce wasn’t exactly a normal great white.

“Well, ye’re part of the reef, aren’t ye?” Bruce asked, quirking a brow. “Sorta in my best interest to protect this side of the reef.”
