aftermath // sammie & tanner
As soon as the door closed behind Lizzie, Sammie fell back onto his bed, staring up the ceiling above. Thoughts and feelings came and went, but among them all remained an innate sense of hurt. It was more painful than any bludger to the head or broomstick between the legs, and worse yet was that the one person he wanted to go to was the one who had caused it.
He didn’t know how long he’d been laying there before he heard the door swing open and the patter of footsteps. Seven years of experience told him that they belonged to Tanner, and for that he was grateful. He couldn’t stand being alone any longer, and the other boy was just the company he needed.
Without moving an inch from his position in his bed, he gave no greeting before saying just loud enough to echo across the room, “Lizzie kissed Beau.”
