I’m pretty pleased with this outfit I put together for Tannusen. Took me half the bloody weekend.
Look it’s important. It helps with my DPS, I promise.

1. The Alleyana bust is home! Now I have larger than life-sized busts of two of my oldest OCs. I feel accomplished.
2. Overhead fillet weld, meaning it was above eye level when I did it. Got a 97!
3. Groove weld I was doing today which was then cut into coupons, ground smooth on both sides, and bent into sharp U shapes with the weld at the point. One facing up, and one facing down, and then inspected for defects. One had two tiny spots and the other had one tiny spot, so my grade on both was another 97.
But also, look at how pretty my welds are getting. I’m finally starting to see relatively uniform ripples on half or more of each bead! I may genuinely have a future with TIG.
He’s home!
Tannusen bust progress.
WIP is still very WIP.
I decided to let all the wet hair clay dry a bit before I fuck with it more, cuz as it is I'm going to have to shishkabob his head in a few dozen places to prevent air pockets, cuz shit was collapsing. So next week a much stabbing will be had, and then I'll repair the surface, and then I'll add more hair.
Mostly accent bits and more volume on the sides. And more to the ponytail so that it’s not just a column. It’s that way for structure, but I’ll be able to mask how straight up and down it is with more clay after it sets up. Gonna refine them eyebrows too but they’re too wet to do much more with right now.
Also he’s about 30lbs right now. Considering nothing’s thicker than my thumb, that’s a lot of clay. He’s a big boy! About 15% bigger than life-size, since he’ll shrink about that much during the firing processes.
He draws a crowd in person. And everyone wants to know where he’s from l-lol.
There’s! My! Boy!
Bonus: the inside.
I cut the top of his head off and hollowed out a good... idk, 8-10 lbs worth of clay? out of his hair. The pics above were taken after I put him back together again. Any clay thicker than my thumb will blow the fuck up in the kiln, so. Gotta be careful about that.
Progress, and size.
(The top of his head will ‘get’ bigger when I start adding hair, as clay hair will obviously take up more room than real hair.)
WIP update.
My manga studio line art printed onto watercolor paper and then... watercolored. Scanned in properly; I’ll toss it up onto deviant art later.
