Don. Donnie. Donatello Von Ryan. YOU ARE SUCH A MOOD GOD BLESS YOU!

I said a Donnie rant was coming your way-

So ever since the show started I have related to Donnie. From the losing brain cells when getting excited, to the hoodies and the phone, to sarcasm and curiosity, to the stubbornness, the nerdiness, the theatrics and everything in between- I have related to this dork from the start.

And after today’s Donnie episode- I still do- in fact even more than ever. And here’s why. Donnie sheerly doubts everything he believes might take his place. He’s SCARED of getting abandoned or being useless and- I will reiterate- is a mood. And it gets even better (yeah) as the way he deals with this is HATING IT. He HATES the idea of something replacing him. He’s important- more important than this “Magic”- he’s smart! Realistic! He’s WAAAAY better than this- this- this magic show! Wait where are you goin- Hey! Pay attention to me! Please. I-I’m important I’m... Ive felt like this many times before. I pretend I’m better because I want them to THINK I’m better. And that’s why I love him so much. Of course he’s dumb and takes it too far, of course he’s stubborn and close minded. He MESSES UP. And that’s okay. That’s what character development is for- and we saw it at the end of episode! We saw him do something he rarely ever does- TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS. Donnie hardly does that. He is stubborn. EXTREMELY STUBBORN (again- hard mood) but at the end of the episode it shows him apologizing. Accepting what he did was wrong and LEARNING. When I was watching the episode at first I thought it’d be another “Donnie messes up and learns nothing” but it WASNT. It wasn’t that. And I’m happy to see him learning (and continuing to be a hard mood) TLDR: This nerd is soft, relatable, interesting, and I really excited to continuing to watch him grow and develop as a character.
