Dragonborn Challenge Submission
Basic life information
Name: Aicanaer Tanvy
-He’s been given the nickname “Squirrel” and “Owl” by his companions but generally just goes by his last name- “Tanvy”
Race: His mother was a “pure bred” altmer and his other parent was a dunmer/redguard mix. He himself is more of a dunmer-passing altmer with freckles and frizzy hair.
Gender: He’s androgynous but male passing
Character traits: Restless, melancholy, attentive, kindhearted
Age: 30 human years old (barely out of his teenage years)
Appearance: He’s tall and lithe, if a little gaunt from his previous hardships. His skin is dotted with moles, freckles and small scars from adventures and traumas alike and for the most part he seems healthy. His skin is a golden grey and his eyes are a bright green with little flecks of gold around the very outer part of the iris.
His hair is long and wild, usually tied in a sloppy knot or ponytail. (His hair is white with the remnants of blonde, it’s very severely sunbleached)
Why he crossed the border: He was fleeing for his life from the very heart of Cyrodiil as he was being pursued by a coven that was out for his blood. He ended up in Skyrim by mistake. *Intended to go back to Hammerfell and get in contact with Amyn’s family
Former life
Birthplace: Tanvy was born at the very end of the Great War in Mournhold. His mothers had a small home in Godsreach.
Childhood home: His parents moved to Stros M’kai when he was 2 human years old. He stayed in their house in Port Hunding for the most part but would frequently visit his grandparents who lived on different parts of/around the island.
First occupation: Mages’ Guild lackey. Joined at his grandfather, Mynreth’s behest and was basically just an underling and a very young student.
Education: Homeschooled by Jameda, Lorendel, and Mynreth until he was “mature enough” to go to High Rock for a more formal education under the guild.
Parental history: Lorendel was estranged from her family at the very beginning of the Great War for being Thalmor-Unsupportive and was cast out as a traitor. She fought with/for the humans on the side of the Empire.
Amyn Tanvy was nothing more than a cobbler from Morrowind who’s family was helping rebuild, when the war broke out she was forced to learn blacksmithing for the troops.
Who raised him: Lorendel and Amyn were both busy working and tending to Tanvy’s sister so a lot of his childhood was spent with his grandmother, Jameda or with his grandfather, Mynreth.
Sibling(s): Marinwel, a young bard-to-be.
Enemies: Amidyn, Camrel, Leyand, Glaeriwel
Class
Standing stone of choice: Thief
Constellation: The Steed
Class: Thief, he uses stealth and speed to get ill gotten gains. *Very good at picking locks and sneaking in/out of places. Learned out of necessity.
Weapon of choice: Dragonbone dagger
Armor of choice: Nightingale armor
Why is he of this class?: Most of Tanvy’s teenage life was spent on the road and provisions could only get you so far when you’re running for your life.
He had to resort to theft and petty banditry just to survive and by the time he learned he was dragonborn, he’d been a bandit for so long that he couldn’t just drop the habit.
Besides, he’d been stealthy since he was a young mer and saw no problems with swiping a few necklaces from the richer folk.
Spell of choice: Either muffle or conjure storm atronach
Most skillpoints: Sneak
Love life
Sexual/Romantic orientation: Tanvy’s an aromantic asexual and a child
Romantic history: None
Married?: No
Alliance
Opinion on Stormcloaks: Tanvy can relate to the feeling of wanting to be free and earn the liberty to worship what you want but he feels like this rebellion is doing more harm than good.
Opinion on Imperials: His mothers were both very firm believers in the Empire thus creating some bias, Tanvy would likely side with the Imperials in a heartbeat.
Especially given the treatment of mer on Skyrim.
Opinion on Thalmor: He’d only ever heard horror stories about the Thalmor and what they did to Summerset, when he got to Skyrim his fears were confirmed.
Opinion on the basic state of Skyrim: He would like to see Skyrim free and peaceful without so much discrimination but he’s come to accept that there’s nothing he can do to erase how backwards the place is.
