Deep blue tanzanite ovals and a pear; a bit too much violet to make them completely top colour but lovely eye-clean material and great depth of colour. Tanzanites can have pretty funky proportions, due to the cost and scarcity of rough, and the pleochroic nature of the stone - these are pretty good. Absolutely stunning tanzanites I’ve picked up for a friend to look at. These are gorgeous, clean, deep violet-blue. And big - around 10-14mm. Tanzanite is so pleochroism that it’s hard to cut - the rough must be properly oriented to display the best colour and slight aberrations result in big difference in the appearance of the stone. Odd shapes and proportions are common!
