hi this is my oc tara (dispatch version) (her hero name is powernap? still working on it)
and ermmm I ship her with herm and robert so I did a meet the ship! it's like tara is dating them and they're dating each other and chad is also dating them but tara and chad are just friends :)
their ship name is "short circuit" because robert is machinery, herm is water, and tara is electricity :3
read more about them below !
since tara and herm are both so tall, robert ends up more like a little backpack when he's the big spoon. none of them mind
tara would absolutely steal their clothes if she could. she really wants to, but sizes unfortunately matter, much to her dismay. herm purposefully buys a hoodie larger than he usually wears because he loves the way his clothes look on his partners. it satiates the small possessive voice inside of him
pet names are not something tara usually reaches for, but the moment robert calls her honey or angel, she literally lights up. she gets all warm and responsive. herm flushes whenever robert does it to him too, and robert loves it. he uses them sparingly, like a reward
robert enjoys company just as much as the next guy, but he also needs time alone to think. tara and herm, who spend a lot of time together, adapt easily. they sit near him, parallel play, exist quietly in the same space. tara presses a knee against his leg, herm hums or fidgets. no pressure. no conversation unless robert starts it
tara is huge on acts of service. helping, fixing, carrying, standing close enough to be useful. physical closeness matters to her... just a shoulder, a knee, a hand, anything. Herm shows affection through gifts, small and thoughtful. Robert knows exactly how to praise both of them in the ways they need and he never misses an opportunity to do so
tara doesn't even TRY to hide her crush on herm. she's so painfully obvious that herm doesn't know what to do with it all, this big, strong woman hanging on to his every word... it flusters him, but he likes it a lot. tara falls in love with robert more slowly. It happens through the dispatching... his calm authority, his guidance, the way he gives clear commands without ever being condescending. she loves being told what to do when it’s done respectfully. she realizes what she’s feeling and tells herm immediately. he’s the one who suggests adding robert in, like it's the most natural thing in the world. and it works!
none of them are particularly scared of bugs, and their default response is to catch them and take them outside rather than kill them. that being said, tara gets a little squeamish around the longer bugs. she’ll still help, but she won't be very happy about it
robert is the only one fully comfortable behind the wheel. tara and herm both get nervous while driving, which is objectively not a great thing when one of them risks drowning the passengers and the other could short out the entire dashboard if she panics. as a result, robert usually drives
herm has spent so much time cooking with his grandma that it’s second nature to him. he enjoys it and often uses home-cooked meals as gifts. robert can cook. he’s been alive long enough to learn, but he rarely puts in the effort unless there’s a reason. cooking for just himself usually doesn’t feel worth the energy. tara can cook competently only if she follows a detailed recipe. left to her own devices, she will burn the toast even if she's not making toast
tara is already an extremely physical person, so being in a relationship doesn’t change much about how she acts. robert doesn’t dislike pda, but he initially struggles with the professionalism of it all, especially in work settings. He learns, slowly, where he’s comfortable and where he needs to draw the line.being such a physical person,
because she’s so physically affectionate, tara struggles with the idea of boundaries. she genuinely couldn’t care less if her partners touch or spend time alone with someone else. hell, she’s cuddled up with teammates half the time herself, so getting upset about it would feel hypocritical. herm, on the other hand, does have a bit of a jealous streak. as long as he’s made it clear to others that tara and robert are his partners, he’s mostly fine with whatever they do. mostly. some teammates consistently push that line just a little too far though (cough courtney cough)
tara had one long-term “relationship” that ended with her being used as a scapegoat for a massive series of crimes while her ex abandoned her. so she’s not very experienced with healthy, normal relationships. herm, on the other hand, has an almost ridiculous amount of pull despite his stuttering nature and he’s had far more experience than either of them, even if he doesn’t always know what to do with it
