The first time we sat down with Tara, she talked about her childhood in such a way that we could almost picture ourselves there. Except we didn’t exactly grow up tagging along with our dad on treks through the Amazon or fall asleep to the sound of cape buffalos rubbing up against our tent.

Tara’s well-traveled upbringing, and exposure to a variety of natural habitats and cultures, clearly contributes a human element to the technical aspects of her photography. As a child, she ran barefoot on Anguilla, lived in Kenya and Venezuela, and also called Los Angeles home for a while.

A mom of three, Tara now resides in Aspen and lives behind the camera on wedding days. Her ability to capture the light and the love is evident in every image she shares. We’ve said it dozens of times and we’ll say it again, we certainly wish we would have hired her to be our wedding photographer years ago.

Looking ahead to 2020, Tara anticipates sophistication to ease back into weddings, from the dresses on the brides to the details on the tables. Fitting, given that Tara is unique in being a film photographer, a rare find these days, in addition to shooting digital.

Whether traveling with her family or heading to the top of Aspen Mountain with a bridal couple, Tara brings a passion to each and every pursuit. As she looks towards her 2020 clients and beyond, we say cheers to saying yes to love and life.
