My #juvenile #gramostolapulchra #taranutla #growing up so #fast I got her about 8 Months ago as a tiny #baby maybe at #3instar #love my #tarantulas #joeysanchez https://www.instagram.com/p/BtuXGKqHQpk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=9wbaza7sop6x
Okay, less pictures with this guy, mostly because flash hates me and ruins the pictures of him. The middle pictures are the most recent ones, taken within a week of each other, except the one from inside his cage, that was a little earlier. That’s probably my best picture of him, honestly. But, meet my Avicularia Avicularia(pink toe). He’s a four inch mature male I picked up from Petco, they had him in the wrong set up, and were feeing him small crickets that hid in the bottom of the cage, and he built himself a really tight web that he never came out of, probably due to stress because he’s only made sperm webs in my care. He was also a little dehydrated, and he seems to really appreciate the larger bottle cap I have in there to give him water. That’s immediately what he went to when he settled in some. He’s extremely active, and I’ve been able to get his abdomen at an exceptable size. Luckily, no major problems so far. He scared me the other day by falling and laying on his back for a little too long, but, once he got back up, he’s been fine. I haven’t see any curling, so my freak out over him dying’s calmed down a little. So, hopefully now, he’ll be fine. Hopefully I’ll have him for a while, too. I’m really loving this fuzz, he’s so chill and cute. Long ass legs, which is why I was so original and named him Legs. And also fuzzy legs. He’s still not a big eater, but I can usually get him to take a super with a crushed head at least one every two weeks. Which is why that one super he has in the pictures seems so big, it’s not too big for him, but I do try giving him the bigger meals. Trying to get him to eat as much as possible while he’s into the idea of eatting. Though, he’ll usually leave left overs I’ll take out the day or two after. A little gross taking out a rotting super worm, but, oh well. I don’t want that in his enclosure. I’ll also need to clean the sides of the enclosure soon, they’re getting a bit messy. But, yeah, that’s my sweetheart, Legs. I love him so much, his tiny pick feet are adorable hhh I’ll try to update on him soon, with better pictures.
Okay, I’ll try to keep this one shorter. Part 2 to my previous post on this guy. These pictures display more of his size, his carapace had to have double in size at least. He grew a complete inch from that molt, he’s as long as my index finger now (three inches). The first picture was before his molt, second one was a day or two after the molt, comparing the size difference. Before I get bitched at for it, though, I only snatched the molt out of his burrow because it was close enough to the entrance and he has retreated further down. It was taking up a lost of space in there, so I figured he’d like to have a little more space to stretch out in anyway. I removed it as quickly as possible and left him alone until he came out of his burrow, where I only bothered with him to take pictures and drop in a roach when he needed one. I’m not too into handling my tarantulas, even though I know my Avic would tolerate it pretty well, I’d just rather not bother them, and the only time I’d even attempt handling would probably be during a rehouse or unboxing. Other than that, I just like leaving them alone and looking at them and feeding them. That alone’s pretty great. Anyway, yeah, my 3 inch suspect male Grammostola Pulchripes, Chaco Golden Knee. He got pretty big. I can’t wait to see how big he gets after his molt probably next year. I’ll probably need to rehouse him after that, Okay. Now, just to do two more posts. Avic and leopard gecko coming up next. Once again, sorry for the bad pictures ;v;
Somewhere in the desert of Monte Cristi province, we stumbled upon a Tarantula.
