It has been a challenge for me to balance these new experiences with studio work and everything else. It has taught me how to manage my time to find the balance between quantity and quality, pacing myself, setting expectations but know how to scale them back when needed. . And to accept. Everything. . Would I have wanted to do more? Of course. Am I happy with what I got? Definitely! . It has been wonderful to learn more more about myself and seeing my growth in each process. I am learning to explain my art, I’m told that it's important…:) But not for that reason simple. . By nature, one of the greatest powers of painting is precisely that it cannot be translated into another language. It’s about duality, balance. My paintings are a translation of what I see and feel in myself and others in daily life. I perhaps overthink and over feel, so my paintings are challenging to complete, and contain internal puzzles that don’t feel right until I add a certain color or line that brings forth the element of beauty to tie it all back together. I finished this piece recently. Made some surprising discoveries whilst just playing with and pushing the materials. This piece has changed beyond all recognition in the last couple of layers. Then it looked good to me and I stopped fighting.
