I've started rereading the Ranger's Apprentice series and in book 2 there's a war but also the King's daughter essentially goes missing in enemy territory and the difference between this king and Maxon is so hilariously huge that I can't handle it. Duncan's gotta plan this war and he grieves the loss of his daughter (who at the beginning he thought was dead but she's not) and pushed on. Meanwhile I'm sure Maxon would personally go in guns blazing for his bird. (America would already be there)
Oh my gosh okay, so:
1. If Addy somehow went missing, she’d be really smart about finding ways to stay alive for as long as possible because she would know 100% that the whole world was looking for her.
2. Maxon would be extra sweet to his family and in every other aspect of his life he would be full Clarkson-mode, and he would absolutely be the one to rescue his daughter, but he wouldn’t try to do it alone.
3. Aspen would be freaking out, but he and Carter would be really methodical in using every branch of the military to search every inch of the country.
4. Illéan allies would be helping too. I mean, there’s her godparents who love her like family, and they’d be organizing the international efforts to help Maxon look for her. Aside from them, Illéa’s allies love Addy, not just because they’ve seen her grow up from a cute kid, but it’s also like that thing Luke said to her once: Addy is the future of the world. Illéa is this massive country that’s blooming into a superpower, and Addy’s going to take over and continue helping all of her allies maintain peace and prosperity just like her dad did. So all of those countries would be using their full force to look for her too.
5. Basically Addy’s captors would have to take a rocket to the moon to escape, and even then idk man.
