Y/N Targaryen had always been a delicate girl. She always preferred to stay in with her needlework or get lost in the many books in the libraries of Summerhall and the Red Keep. She had just turned ten and nine only one moon ago. Too old to be unbetrothed. She heard the whispers. The court wanted her wed. She can't blame them. Most girls are betrothed by the age of ten and six, and sometimes even younger.
She knows she is to wed within her family. That had been her grandsire’s only request to her and her father. There had been enough marriages with other houses, strengthening loyalty within the realm. Even without dragons, the blood of the dragon must stay pure. She could hear her grandsire’s words as she walked through the halls of the Red Keep towards her father’s chambers. It had been only her, Aegon, and their father that remained in King’s Landing after the tourney in honor of her nameday. The rest of her siblings had returned to Summerhall.
She loved Aerion. Truly, she did. They had been made in the same womb at the same time. He was half of her. But she did not want to wed him. Had never actually laid a hand on her, but his words were enough to send a chill down her back. She dearly loved Daeron as well, and while he was always kind to her, she did not want to marry a drunkard. She wanted better than a man who would love his wine more than he would love her. Aemon at the citadel was out of the question, as was little Egg, for he was far too young. Her cousin Valarr was already married, and Matarys was also deemed too young for her.
She quietly entered her father’s chambers and bowed, “Father.” She had not noticed her uncle, who sat off to the side, her gaze completely on her father.
“My flower,” Maekar said softly as he held his hand out for her to take. He gently covered her small, soft hand with his other as he spoke to her.
“I have made my decision, he sighed. “Though it is still up to you to refuse and choose another.”
Y/N nodded as she looked at her father, her hand still between his.
Maekar glanced at his brother. It was then that she realized he was there.
“Your Uncle has approached me with a proposal-”
“But I- I thought Matarys was too young,” she spoke as she looked between the two men in confusion.
“He is,” her father nods.
It is then that Baelor finally speaks, “ It will not be too long before I eventually become King,” He sighs, almost in reluctance, as he spins the ring on his finger. “ The council, along with the King are urging me to take a wife again.”
Y/N can feel her heart beating against her chest as the realization dawns on her. Her father squeezes her hand.
“I would take you as my wife if you would have me,” Baelor slowly stood up as he approached them.
“ You would stay here with him; there would be no pressure for you to produce heirs, for he already has some,” Maekar spoke as he let go of his daughter’s hand. “You would become queen when he ascends the throne, and he will be good to you.” Maekar’s eyes scanned her face as he finished.
She finally looked at her uncle. He stood close enough that if she reached out, she could touch him,m but far enough to give her space. His mismatched eyes softened as their eyes met. He would be good to me; he is an honorable man, she thought.
“You are allowed to say no and marry one of your brothers if that is what you wish,” Baelor spoke softly.
Y/N shook her head. She looked at her father and nodded, “ I’ll wed him.”
Maekar let out a sigh of relief before pressing a gentle kiss to her crown, “Good.” He stepped towards the door, “I’ll let father know,” he said gruffly towards his brother, who nodded.
Once her father left, she turned her attention back to her uncle, and she could feel the nerves in her stomach begin to calm as his eyes softened once more when they met her lilac ones.
King Daeron made the announcement almost immediately: the flower of Summerhall would wed the Prince of Dragonstone in two moons' time.

I apologize if it’s bad 😭 I haven’t written anything in a while and I’m kinda caught up with school. I will also be posting on my AO3 so if yall want that let me know. I don’t know how many parts it’s going to be. The next chapter might be a filler chapter with just little moments between the reader and Baelor before the wedding and then a whole chapter for the wedding. I also don’t know how much time to put between the wedding and the Tourney in ashford. One chapter ? Two chapters? Idk. Since there’s going to be a happy ending I kind of plan on having a of small bits where it’s literally just the reader and Baelor being cute.

Summary: Daeron's sister wife cannot enjoy the tourney while her brothers are missing.
Y/N had known it was a bad idea. She had told her father and her uncle herself. It's a bad idea, don’t allow it. Nevertheless, they had, and now the skin around her nails had been picked bloody as she took her father’s hand to get out of the carriage. The same carriage her sweet brother Aegon should have ridden with her.
She politely greeted the Ashfords as she followed behind her father and uncle. She did not speak as she continued to anxiously pick at the skin around her nails.
“Father!” she whispered as if to chastise him for his language, but he softly rolled his eyes at her before sitting. When the conversation moved to that about her husband and brother, she spoke up.
“I told you, I told you both,” Y/N frowned as she looked at her father and uncle before returning her gaze to the window.

She woke with a frown. The bed had been cold when she had fallen asleep, and it remained cold as the sun shone through the curtains. One of her maids helped her with her dress before she dismissed her. She did her own hair. Only tying back some of her hair and leaving the rest down, how Daeron liked it.
The knight assigned to her chambers silently walked behind her until she reached where her family was breaking fast. On one side was her family, and on the other the Asfords. She sat between her Father and her cousin, Valarr. To his left sat his father, her uncle, at the head of the table. Then to her father’s right sat her brother Aerion, leaving the two empty seats that would otherwise have been occupied.
“You alright, cousin?” Valarr had leaned sideways so the question would not draw attention.
Y/N nodded as she sipped on the sweet wine in her goblet, “Just worried.”
Valarr smiled softly, “I’m sure they are alright. Daeron is capable, and Aegon will have kept an eye on him.” She smiled softly in thanks. She and Valarr had always been close when they were children. Both finding comfort in books in their younger days. She was grateful for his kind words, but she wished he had brought his wife with her. She had grown close to Lady Kiera.

The day went by in a blur. The tourney is not really taking her mind off Daeron and Aegon. She only really watched when Valarr went. She straightened as she saw a boy whose features resembled those of Aegon, on the shoulders of a very tall man. But before she could raise the question to Aerion, who sat next to her, the boy was gone.
That night, she went to sleep in a cold bed once more.

Y/N broke fast in her chambers that day. Once she was dressed, she dismissed her maid. She sat at the vanity as she combed her hair with a beautiful golden comb her father had gifted her on her wedding day. It was your mother’s, now it's yours. She gently set it down on the vanity before walking over to Daeron’s trunk.
She pulled out one of his cloaks, a new one that she had commissioned for him. She frowned when she noticed the missing three-headed dragon and pulled her kit from her trunk. She silently sat in her chambers as she embroidered the dragon on her husband's cloak. She knew he was most likely okay. Aegon had probably asked to stay the night at some tavern, most likely too tired from riding, and Daeron being Daeron, had too many drinks. At least she hoped that was the case. He may be a drunkard and a mess, but she loved him. He was her brother, her husband, and she did not know what she would do if she were to never see him again.
The news had reached her as she remained in her chambers. Y/N threw her needlework down on the bed as she bolted out past the knight who had delivered the news. She hastily made her way through the halls of the Ashford Castle, the heels of her shoes clicking on the stone as she did. She did not knock or announce herself as she burst through the door. Her uncle sat at the head of the table, her father next to him, and some other lord sat to the other side of her uncle.
Daeron stood in the center of the room. His light blonde hair was a mess, and he was not in his typical princely clothes. He had turned around when he heard the doors open, the loud noise causing him to wince.
Y/N launched herself at him, her arms wrapping around his neck, pulling him close as he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist. She held him a moment before pushing off and hitting his chest, “Do not ever do that again!”
Daeron winced slightly, but not at her hit, but at the volume of her voice.
“I’m sorry my love,”
Her gaze softened, but only before she realized Aegon was nowhere in sight.
“Wait wheres little Aegon?” she looked at her father and uncle.
“Thats what we were just discussing,” Baelor answered
“Your brother lost him,” Maekar spoke gruffly. His brows were furrowed, but they typically were. His eyes held a mix of disappointment and anger.
“I already told you a man-”
Maekar cut his eldest son off,” Yes, yes, we heard you, you let a man take your brother.”
Y/N gently took her husband’s hand as he winced again when their father raised his voice.
“How about you escort your husband to your chambers?” her uncle had asked her. It was a clear move to diffuse the situation.
She nodded as she tugged her husband along. She did not speak until they arrived at their chambers. She gently picked up the cloak and her needle from the bed, placing them on a nearby table. She watched as he let himself fall on the bed. He buried his face in the pillows as she gently sat next to him.
His hand reached out for her, and she took it gently, rubbing circles on the back.
“He’s right,” he mumbled into the pillow before sitting up slightly.
“About what,t my love?” With her free hand, she brushed his hair out of his face.
“Its my fault,”
Y/N did not answer, but her eyes softened as she looked at him.
“ I also lied. A man did not take him; he went willingly.”
Y/N furrowed her brows as she listened. She kept rubbing the small circles on the back of his hand as she listened.
“If he went willingly, I’m sure it must have been a man he seemed to somewhat trust. Egg is a good judge of character, I’m sure he'll turn up soon.”
Daeron did not respond but gently pulled on her hand until she lay next to him. She looked at him as he closed his eyes and pulled her closer to his chest.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured against her hair.
“I know,” she answered.
“I did not mean to worry you or lose Aegon, I just didn't- ”he sighed. “ I did not want to compete, and I thought maybe father would just let it go if I missed it, but now-”
“Egg will turn up, and I will speak to father,” Y/N set her hand gently on his chest as she pulled back to look at him. He opened his eyes when her hand moved up to his jawline. “And I forgive you.”
“Hmm, my sweet wife, I do not deserve you,” he leaned his head down, closing the proximity between their faces. She could smell the wine on his breath, but she had grown used to it.
“You know I do not like it when you say that, my love,” she pressed a gentle kiss to his lips.
“You know it's true,” he mumbled against her lips before pulling her under him and burying his face in her neck.
She did not respond and simply ran her fingers through his hair. They stayed like that for a while before Daeron began to kiss her neck. She squirmed under him. Kisses on her neck had always made her ticklish.
“Daeron!” She laughed as she continued to wiggle.
He paused his trail of kisses as he rested himself on his elbows, as he looked down at her. He looked at her lovingly, but his eyes still held that tiredness that never seemed to go away, even when he tried to drink it away.
“I missed you,” he confessed
“I missed you, too,” Y/N responded gently, cupping his cheek.
He turned his head to place a kiss on her palm, “I had a new dream.”
“Yeah?”
He nodded as he lifted himself off of her wlaking over to the pitcher of wine on the table. He poured himself a cup before he spoke.
“There's a man and a great beast, a large dragon lies dead at his feet.”
Y/N stood up, gently walking over to him and wrapping her arms around him from behind.
“That could mean anything,” she mumbled into his back. “ Do not fret about it, my love.”
He finished his goblet before pouring another; he trembled slightly. She loosened her grip on him as he chugged the wine he had just poured himself. She could see it on his face, in his eyes. It meant something.
“Let us rest for a while. I have no need to watch the tourney today,” she spoke softly as she slipped her heels off.
He turned to look at her before setting the goblet down. She had just sat down when he stumbled forward and crashed his lips onto hers. They stayed like that until he pulled back to take a breath, resting his forehead against hers.
“I love you,” he muttered.
“I love you too,” she responded before crashing her lips onto his.
