Tarnation takes place in 2006 because I (correctly) predicted the nostalgia cycle would finally catch up to the 2000s, and within this glut of Avatar The Last Airbender and Who Let The Dogs Out nostalgia, I need people to also remember how horrible it was to be alive during that era.
