Title: The Rise of the Tartarous Age: Evolution Takes a Bitter Turn
Date: November 24, 2144 Source: Neural Nexus News
In a surprising twist of biological fate, researchers at the Human Advancement Institute have announced the discovery of a new evolutionary trajectory. Dubbed tartarous evolution, this phase of human development has baffled and intrigued scientists worldwide. Characterized by an increasingly acidic gastrointestinal system and a peculiar decline in aesthetic and intellectual pursuits, humanity appears to be adapting in ways once deemed unthinkable. While some herald this shift as a response to environmental pressures, others decry it as an ominous sign of humanity’s slow descent into mediocrity.
The stomached era, as it is now colloquially referred to, is marked by an enhanced ability to digest highly toxic and otherwise inedible substances. Modern humans, equipped with robust gastric enzymes and a hyper-efficient digestive tract, can consume plastic, industrial waste, and even radioactive material without harm. This remarkable adaptation is believed to have evolved in response to Earth's growing environmental degradation. “Evolution doesn’t prioritize beauty or intellect; it prioritizes survival,” said Dr. Marius Teren, lead researcher at the institute. “Unfortunately, this adaptation has come at a cost—an unsettling decline in what we once defined as 'higher pursuits.'”
The unedifying shift is visible across global societies. Apathy toward art, literature, and philosophical exploration has surged, replaced by an almost mechanical focus on immediate, physical survival. While some celebrate the human species’ resilience, others lament the loss of what made humanity unique. Critics have labeled this era the tartarous age, not only for its acidic biology but for the souring of humanity's collective soul. “If this is evolution,” lamented cultural historian Alina Drax, “it feels like we’ve traded transcendence for digestion. What’s left of us when all we value is survival?” As the debate rages, one thing remains certain: the future of human evolution has never been more uncertain—or unsettling.

The Nine Demon Gates
People in my opinion underestimate the Nine demon gates power. I feel like people do so because of the way they were portrayed in the Tartarous arc. IMO Marde Geer was a crappy leader and in return it made his Guild look crappy. Marde Geer’s downfall was that he didn’t do his research on Humans and thus his plan was an epic fail. It wasn’t just Marde Geer but all of them in General.
Sayla could have assembled the greatest army in Ishgar with some of the most powerful mages. Also despite popular belief Sayla can control people more powerful then her as she easily took control of Erza even in a weaken state. It was also never stated that her Macro couldn’t work on people stronger then her. Sayla’s army could have consisted of:
Jura Neeks: The fifth Wizard Saint
Laxus:
Kagura
Gods of Ishgar
Erza
Makarov
The Magic Counil
Gildarts
OS
Thus their would have been no Guild that could really stand against her. When she is done with them she could have them easily kill themselves. If Sayla would have done her research on humans and the magic council then she would have easily been able to discover how powerful they were. Especially the ones who competed in the GMG. By taking them under her control she could simple eliminate any real threat they pose to her. With her control over the magic council she could have easily had them fire Etherion where ever she pleased. Where ever she fired Etherion Framarth should have been waiting to absorb its power since that is how his power work.
If Framarth would have absorbed Etherion then he could have been able to spam Etherion Nukes throughout Fiore against anyone he so pleased. Not to mention he had already absorbed Hades soul and gained his magical abilities. With that Framarth would have gained Grimore Law, Heck Framarth could have even absorbed Makarov soul and gained Fairy Law thus having 3 super powerful spells under his command. Thus no one could stand in Framarth’s way and he could get rid of who ever he pleases. Also if Sayla was to get Jellal under her control she could have him cast Sema just so Framarth could absorb it or Framarth could just absorb Jellal as a whole. Thus this add to Framarths arsenal even more.
These two alone if they did their research could have took over Ishgar and made it a place to be feared. Especially if Sayla used her Macro to learn the secrets of each Guild and if she learned about Fairy Heart she could decided how she wanted to proceed in using it. They could have also gained the names of the members who acted as seals for Face and easily disposed of them. Thus they could have activated face done deal.
The funny thing about all of this is that Marde Geer was suppose to be a master Tactician yet he wasn’t that great at making plans especially considering the all failed.
Opinions on the Tartarous arc!
Fairy Tail Fans sometimes kill me. Just a few chapters ago they were swearing up and down that Tartarous arc was Fairy Tails best arc now they are saying they hate it. They are even complaining about things they were praising chapters ago like come on now. I personally never thought Tartarous was the best arc Fairy Tail has had nor do I hate.
Here is my opinion:
1. He introduced some good things to make the plot really interesting like Lucy surviving Algeria, Lumien Histoire, Kyouka reinforcement magic, transforming Humans into demons and other stuff this arc but then he left it hanging andI feel like he totally forgot about it.
2. Face is worthless and contradicts the demons attitude on magic and Humans. If Demons felt they were so superior why do they need to get rid of magic? It makes the demons seem weak and if it was to go off Fairy Tail would be rendered useless. Some people think LH would restore magic but here is the problem with that: If Face erases Magic LH should also disappear, although I doubt Hiro would realize that.
3. He focuses so much on creating new characters and giving every character screen time that his has no time to give characters proper development. Fairy Tail fans cry that they want to see so many side characters but they don't realize the more characters Hiro introduces and focuses on the less development the story and characters receive. He tries to get the spotlight in for one character really fast then move on to the next.
4. I think this arc should have been about Fairy Tail or Team Natsu as a whole rather than Gray and Natsu because it limits the creativity. Erza and Lucy have better chemestry with the demons and story then Natsu and Gray IMO.
5. The Demons are failures. I have little faith in the power of END.
6. I wish Hiro mashima would have turned these characters into Demons like Minerva:
-Erza/Natsu/Lucy/Freed/Bicklow/Laxus/Mirajane/Cobra/Ikagura/Levy
and made these characters the 9DG understudies.
Erza/Kyouka--
Natsu/Jackal--
Bicklow/Framarth---
Freed/Keith---
Minerva/Silver---
Laxus/Tempesta---
Mirajane/Sayla--
Ikagura/Ezel---
Levy/Lamy--
Lucy/Marde Geer
Ops :') AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
