Okay so I'm not an ace person so maybe I don't get it...
But I recently found a blog that was like "cgl/kink/TERF/inclusionist do not interact" and it took me a bit to figure out that by "inclusionist" they mean someone who believes aromantic and asexual people belong in the LGBT community. Because they apparently have never been opressed??? Like.... corrective rape wasn't just for gays and lesbians, ace people were subject to that too???? Having a romantic/sexual partner is considered a sign of stabilty when youre being judged by people (ie for a promotion)??? Marital rape wasn't illegal in all 50 states until 1993??? It's part of our shitty culture to think girls just need a good deep dicking to cure them of being unattainable??? Like have y'all been living under a rock and not noticed any of these damn things??? The thing about gays and lesbians is that they are pretty obvious -they usually have to come out to their family, especially if they get into a serious relationship. But bi, trans, queer and a-spec people aren't always so easy to spot. Sometimes we do pass for cishet sexual, romantic beings because that is the "default" to assume everyone is. But don't think for one second that those groups are immune to the oppression, fear, and violence that gays and lesbians are subjected to.
ok rant incoming. i know i’ve been dying over that adam thinking ronan left him quote, but i gotta make this clear: in no way is that ronan’s fault. this is an extremely fucked up situation, and i need people to understand ronan was/is in an extremely bad place. love is powerful and all, but it’s not a cure-all for everything. adam said it himself, remember? he cant kill ronan’s demons. that’s something ronan and only ronan can do. sure it sucks that adam thinks ronan didnt choose him, but lets also not forget that ronan is dealing with something incredibly real and incredibly painful for him - emotionally and physically. lets not villanise ronan to uwu adam, k? love and peace ✌🏽
it’s so weird reconnecting with someone again. like I know your favourite food and your worst memories and I know all your hopes and fears and dreams and I know the story behind that scar you have right under your eyebrow but I’m just finding out what job you’re doing now and im asking you polite questions like ‘how was your day?’ as if launching into a story ever needed prompting before. we’re stuck in this place between starting again and continuing where we left off and I dont know which one is better. I missed you every day and I'm still missing you even when you are right here and I dont think I can ever put that into words. like what the fuck is up with that?
