Opened it up to find I was right about the capstan belt being broken. The rubber had perished so bad that I squashed it up in a ball like it were gum or something. New replacement belt is on its way from Germany 👌🏻

Tonight I am testing out our new Tascam MK488. I used the rhythm from Todd is New Each Moment's 2007 album Deepthroat. It's 5 la la la la la la las in a row followed by a lalalalalalalalalala. The whole set repeats five times. I then counted to sixteen because today is November 16th. After that I spelled Eleven because this month is November, the 11th month. ELEV(ee)N. I thought it sounded better with a long VVV.

There are no effects used on this, only some tape speed manipulation. It feels very LaMonte Young meets Meredith Monk reading out a calculator.
