Wesley didn’t have the best life growing up. He didn’t learn how to positively cope with his emotions which means he often keeps things bottled up or he gets super angry and lets it all out in an emotional mess. He wants to try to work towards learning to better handle those emotions but it’s a difficult path for him.
He has always looked up to Caro. She took care of him growing up and is the reason he keeps going despite what the world throws at him. He was absolutely devastated when she left and didn’t come back until recently. He’d lost the one person he had to look after him and make sure he was okay.
Commitment really scares Wes. He doesn’t understand how people can decide that they want to stay with one person forever. Relationships also confuse him because he doesn’t understand what love is. He thought he was in love once but now that he thinks back on it he isn’t exactly sure it counts.
Wesley learned to cook when he was working in a diner for extra money. He wanted to learn so that him and Caro didn’t have to eat out all of the time. He’s actually really good at it but he doesn’t show off those skills often because he’s embarrassed by it.
For the longest time, Wes didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life. When he was in high school he took a first aid class and ended up really enjoying it. When he graduated high school he knew he didn’t want to go to college because he didn’t consider himself smart enough. He took an EMT class after seeing an advertisement and loved it, then after working as an EMT he decided to step it up and become a paramedic.
