Teenage Surprise
Hearing the huff from Cooper meant that he was ready to go out. Before she could get up she felt a lick on her cheek. “Okay bubba I’m up. I’m up.” She sat up in bed. She didn’t get much sleep. Since her very public fight with her ex she had been on edge and it was a lot more than she had let on. She reached over and turned off her alarm so she wouldn’t wake up Theo. Hearing Cooper whine she threw the covers back and headed towards the bathroom. “I’ll just be two minutes bubba I promise.” She was still half asleep when she went into the bathroom. She sighed as she opened the medicine cabinet. She grabbed her medication and got out what she needed. She filled the glass on the sink with water.
As much as she hated taking her medication she knew that she needed to take it. At times she hated how she felt and this time was no different. She took the pill and then washed it down. She ran her fingers through her dark locks which felt longer than what she remembered. Her hair hadn’t been really long since she had been a teenager. Opening her eyes she looked in the mirror. What was going on? The last thing that she remembered was going to go see a psychic with Theo. They had come home, changed clothes and had fell asleep watching a movie. “Охуе́ть!” (What the fuck) She rarely spoke Russian. There was no way that she could let Theo see her like this or Waverly for that matter.
Looking down she noticed that Theo’s shirt was a lot looser on her than what it should be. This has to have been some nightmare. She could hear Cooper whining at the door. Milo was in Waverly’s room and wouldn’t get up until she did. This couldn’t be happening. She grabbed a pair of sweatpants that were on the side of the tub and slipped them on. As quiet as she could she slipped out of the bathroom. Cooper soon followed her. While she still looked similar to how she looked as an adult being a teen had been somewhat of a nightmare for her. She sighed as she let Cooper out into the yard. This had to be a mistake or something. Nothing weird happened or had it. They had went out for their weekly date night. It was something that they always made a point to do. They had dinner. They had dessert but they hadn’t ordered it. Someone had sent them a dessert to share. Maybe they had something to do with it.
“Honey….is everything okay?” She heard Theo ask. “Yeah.” Her voice sounded different than how it normally did. “Are you sure? You sound a little different.” “Im not feeling good. I let Cooper out and I’m gonna lay on the couch for a little bit. I don’t want to get you sick.” She quickly grabbed a sweatshirt that was on the back of the couch and slipped it on. It definitely swallowed her more than normal. She quickly grabbed her phone and sent a quick text to Gabe. “Did you wake up different?” She twirled a strand of her hair around her finger. It had been a long time since she had done that. “Different how?” She didn’t want to sound crazy. “Uhmmm well it might sound crazy but I look like I did was like in high school.” She knew that Gabe would either think she was crazy or he would understand. “Nik….are you hungover?” Shaking her head she typed, “No. I had a glass of wine with dinner last night. We had dessert and went to see a psychic. Came home and put on a movie and fell asleep.” “Did you eat any candy?” She had to laugh. “No Giles….I didn’t eat any band candy. It was so weird. We didn’t order dessert. Someone sent us a dessert to share at the restaurant.”
Nicola laid down on the couch. She couldn’t go to the gallery like this and holy fuck she was now a teen mom. She heard Cooper barking which let her know that he wanted in. She got up and let him in. She gave him his treat and he followed her to the couch and laid next to her. Hearing her phone go off she sighed. “Was it a fortune cookie?” “No it wasn’t. I’m not sure what it was.” “So you ate a dessert that some random stranger sent to your table?” “I didn’t want to be rude. I didn’t know that I would wake up as a teenager. All I want is to get this whole situation with Ryan figured out.” “Do you need me to make him disappear?” Nicola had to laugh. “No but I need to make sure that Waverly stays safe.”
Nicola sighed and laid her phone on the table. Cooper got closer to her. She knew that there was no way she could leave the house. She closed her eyes for a few minutes until she felt someone poking her shoulder. “Momma?” She opened her eyes and saw Waverly’s blue ones staring at her. “Yes baby?” “You look like my mom but you don’t sound like her.” Nicola sighed. “Are you sure you are my mom?” Nicola sighed. “Yes it’s me. I promise.” Waverly arched an eyebrow. “Okay if your my mom then tell me something that only me and my mom know.” Nicola ran her fingers through her hair. She looked at Waverly and smiled and then held up her pinky. Waverly giggled and held hers up and then wrapped it around Nicola’s. “Always together.” “Always together.”
